Pepsimaywest Posted August 22, 2006 Posted August 22, 2006 Well i posted before, my first real breakup, and its only been since thursday, I have only contacted my ex for a few personal things but she never got back to me. Its been hard two nights of drinking with friends while hunting women like I was a lion stalking prey because I am so on the rebound. The only thing is that once i broke up I got into contact with all my friends who are girls mainly for the moral support yea right, I am wounded and I need my morphine. The only thing is that this break up has really ruined things I have already pretty much moved on but it had hurt my study abilities for my finals in university which pretty much failed my semester. Are there any ways or techniques any of you know about on how to focus on your exams while going through breakups. Also her family have developed a real hatred for me, though I ahve done nothing wrong, they were my best friends and now its like i'm the enemy, duh she is family, but people can be such hypocrites.

Allow yourself to feel good about ANY accomplishments you achieve, however small. After the break-up I had planned to study for my exam one day. I spent the first four hours reading posts here on loveshack. Then I felt bad and removed myself from the computer and started to look at a part of material. Afterwards I appreciated that the tiny progress I made that day did take me closer to my goal of passing the exam. I didn't beat myself up for spending four hours on loveshack. I admitted I was temporarily disabled so I was kind to myself. The following day I tried again and once again made small progress. Over a couple of weeks, the daily small advancements accumulated to significant knowledge. Eventually the exam went well, best way possible in fact.
