Ok, honestly in everyone's experience- how can you tell if co-workers are platonic friends or if there's something more going on? What signs and signals would you use.

For example, would you say a female that gets a male coworker his coffee (he is not a superior) shows more of a romantic relationship than platonic one?

Or if a male visits a female co-worker regularly can that be viewed as one thing or another. I'm just trying to get a barometer on how people view these behaviors.

There is no way of really telling. Only the two people involved know for sure. You can suspect just because someone gets someone coffee that maybe...but in reality isn't it a nice gesture if you are getting coffee that you offer someone else it. Or that you know that the person likes coffee so you get them some?

We had a joke at the place that I worked, Never go to lunch with one of the guys are you will be accused of sleeping with them.

Never assume anything it usually results in vicious rumors.
