MsArcadia Posted August 18, 2006 Posted August 18, 2006 Ok, honestly in everyone's experience- how can you tell if co-workers are platonic friends or if there's something more going on? What signs and signals would you use. For example, would you say a female that gets a male coworker his coffee (he is not a superior) shows more of a romantic relationship than platonic one? Or if a male visits a female co-worker regularly can that be viewed as one thing or another. I'm just trying to get a barometer on how people view these behaviors.

You can suspect just because someone gets someone coffee that maybe...but in reality isn't it a nice gesture if you are getting coffee that you offer someone else it. Or that you know that the person likes coffee so you get them some? We had a joke at the place that I worked, Never go to lunch with one of the guys are you will be accused of sleeping with them. Never assume anything it usually results in vicious rumors.
