lance Posted August 15, 2006 Posted August 15, 2006 My girlfriend of 4 years has just asked for a break initially then told me it was a breakup 2 days later. She tells me it it because we are young (me 21 her 20)and we have our whole lives ahead of us. She then tells me she has a small attraction to another male on our baseball team. I believe she is facing some uncertanty with our future and does not want to commit. However she has always been asking me about a puposal and moving in together. She said there is a chance in the future we could get together like 6 months or a year from now. I love her so much I cannot stand a day without her. There was a little spark missing in the past few months but I felt we could gain it back. Right now I feel like I would do anything to get her back. My friends tell me to wait and she will come back, but I can't stand a year without her. We spent everyday together, and if not talked on the phone everynight. I was wondering if I should let her be and have time to think or persue her still since I am madly in love with her and I know she is the one.
bluechocolate Posted August 16, 2006 Posted August 16, 2006 She tells me it it because we are young (me 21 her 20)and we have our whole lives ahead of us. She's right. I was wondering if I should let her be and have time to think......... Yes of course you should let her be. Isn't that what she asked for?
HeyYouGuys Posted August 16, 2006 Posted August 16, 2006 The worst thing to do (if you love someone) is to pursue them when they've asked for space and time alone. It will only drive her further away from you, emotionally Give her her breathing room. She will either return to you or she wont' It's a hard thing to do, but really, that's the only answer
