laRubiaBonita Posted August 15, 2006 Posted August 15, 2006 .... I have a temporary cap on a front tooth, it has been there about 2 years. i smoke, drink coffee and tea....and this one little cap is stained....it's fugly, not terribly noticable, but i see it. what is a cheap, fast, home remedy that will lighten it? i think it is porcelain...maybe i dunno. the stupid part.... i have a bleach pen, and was wondering if that would be REALLY bad, just to dab some on there......?
superconductor Posted August 15, 2006 Posted August 15, 2006 Check with your dentist before you do anything. Damaging the porcelain will cause more trouble than it's worth. Or, of course, you could try White-Out.
EnigmaXOXO Posted August 15, 2006 Posted August 15, 2006 I wouldn't try anything harder than baking soda until you verified with your dentist. I was told that I could not "bleach" my porcelain veneers … but I'm not sure whether that meant I would damage them, or that bleach wasn't strong enough to whiten them. If you find out, let me know too … because I've been scared to try it!
