I tried to patch it up and about 10 days ago he told me it is better if we dont talk or meet anymore. I respected his wishes. Today he wrote me an sms which said "happy birthday" (today is my birthday). I dont know what if anything to write back. This guy was really stringing me along. He promised me marriage and children and really hurt me. Now he is sending me birthday messages. I am so angry.

If I were you, I'd be tempted to snap back...but it would probably lead to more communication and would give him the chance to mess up with your feelings again. Better not to reply anything, forget about the sms, forget about the loser.

I still care about him but I am also hurt and angry. I am also at a point where I probably realize that nothing I say now makes a difference. But I feel lost and need some guidance on my response.

He just said Happy Birthday, like I am doing now and I don't even know you.
