sickkitty Posted August 15, 2006 Posted August 15, 2006 Hay guys how true do u think this is??? Love is when you find someone who is your best friend and you can be yourself around them. Its when words can't come close to how you feel. Its when you know you are suposed to be together. And if you have to wait forever . . . You Will When you feel cold and warm at the same time, when you read over the same line for the tenth time, when your heart and thoughts somehow appear to rhyme, and when a simple name conquers your whole mind, then you are in deep trouble my friend... you are in what they call, "love". When he`s the first thing on your mind when you wake up, and the last thing when you go to bed, when you smile for no reason, and then realize that you`re thinking of him, when nothing else matters, just you and him, when you think that everything is perfect, its just you and him, together forever. When you feel that you`re the luckiest person on this earth because you found your Prince Charming/cinderella

When you feel that you`re the luckiest person on this earth because you found your Prince Charming/cinderella I agree with that when it comes to romantic love. Disagree with the 'together forever' part, though I think it doesn't make the love that comes to an end any less important. Here's my other take, on love in general: Love is when someone else's happiness is essential to your own.
Author sickkitty Posted August 15, 2006 Author Posted August 15, 2006 I like that last bit............... very true, just a shame we have to end up like this lol:o
bluechocolate Posted August 15, 2006 Posted August 15, 2006 hmm... I don't know sickkitty, what you describe sounds something like an obsessive compulsive disorder to me. Either that or just the infatuation stage of a new relationship. Prince Charming / Cinderella? No one can fill those shoes!
Author sickkitty Posted August 15, 2006 Author Posted August 15, 2006 Lol Just browsing the net and found it thought it would b a good topic 2 start c what ppl thought some of it is true 2 the way i felt/feel 4 my ex Give ya the prince charming/cinderella bit though pmsl
morphius Posted August 15, 2006 Posted August 15, 2006 Love is...not about finding the perfect person, but about learning to to love an imperfect person. Morph
Pink Amulet Posted August 15, 2006 Posted August 15, 2006 A nice hallmark sentiment there... Forgive me if I seem cynical. I am jaded. Boo love *thumbs down*
PoshPrincess Posted August 15, 2006 Posted August 15, 2006 That's what a like to see, lots of cynics out there. I prefer to call myself a romantic cynic, or should that be cynical romantic? I guess that's really what you call sitting on the fence (or living in hope maybe?) I loved sickkitty's post. Made me think of my ex. Now that doesn't make me sound like a tough cynic. Before I met him I was totally cynical and at 34 years old never believed in 'the one'. Then he came along and swept me off my feet bit style. Now we've split I am a born again cynic. Apparently I was his 'one' too. Maybe he just has lots of them?
Author sickkitty Posted August 15, 2006 Author Posted August 15, 2006 uhhhhhhhhhhhhhh thanx poshprincess My ex was the one 2 now im very much cynical but hay u can only hope and dream eh
SoCalCatman72 Posted August 15, 2006 Posted August 15, 2006 Love is knowing all of someone's flaws.......................and accepting them anyways.
Asafan Posted August 15, 2006 Posted August 15, 2006 Love is...not about finding the perfect person, but about learning to to love an imperfect person.Morph A very wise statement. I'll go one further. Love is... About two imperfect people who can put up with each other's imperfections and not kill each other -- and learn to love each other in the process.
a4a Posted August 15, 2006 Posted August 15, 2006 Love is wanting to stab your partner in the head with a fork, but having enough restraint not to do so. ********************************** You are with a person because you are getting something out of it. Even if you dote on them and treat them wonderful..... you are still getting something out of it..... love is actually selfish.

richardcruz Posted August 15, 2006 Posted August 15, 2006 L*ve is a word that I prefer not to use anymore, because it means nothing to me anymore. Its just another meaningless word. One can tell you that they l*ve you for years on hand and leave you the next day. Sorry everyone, just my current state of mine. Love isn't real..
Tanice Posted August 16, 2006 Posted August 16, 2006 I usto believe in all that Bull$@&*, but not anymore, Yes there is such a thing as love, like how u feel for you parents or pet, but be prepared to find out love is a biyatch, the biggest biyatch you will ever meet.
Tanice Posted August 17, 2006 Posted August 17, 2006 i totally agree, i was in somewhat of the same situation, was totlly in love for 3 years and my boyfriend dropped me like i was a bad habit. so now im not sure if i can believe in all that love stuff.
the_alchemyst Posted August 17, 2006 Posted August 17, 2006 Love is.... a motherf*cker. Was that really necessary? Anyway, that post is cute, kitty. Unfortuantely, I think that type of love is best left for romance novels. I don't think a love like that stands a chance against life, as it would evanesce rather quickly. To me, love is like a flower.
Diver012 Posted August 17, 2006 Posted August 17, 2006 Love is my Father and Mother that has been married for over 40 years. I think its rare, but its out there.. somewhere.
superconductor Posted August 17, 2006 Posted August 17, 2006 Love is my Father and Mother that has been married for over 40 years. I think its rare, but its out there.. somewhere. My parents are closing in on their 50th anniversary. They can't stand one another.
TheSilentType Posted August 17, 2006 Posted August 17, 2006 Love is....letting them go when they don't want to be with you anymore... Don't know if this is true, but I believe it
Diver012 Posted August 17, 2006 Posted August 17, 2006 Love is....letting them go when they don't want to be with you anymore... Don't know if this is true, but I believe it Then I loved my Ex. In all honesty I did. Now all I can say to her is... nothing. We dont speak anymore. Tragic.
Guest Posted August 17, 2006 Posted August 17, 2006 My first post: I have been reading these posts for months and learning/coping/growing/letting go of a bad situation and ultimately thankful, yadda yadda. A4A you make me laugh/smile all the time. I don't know you but feel you are a good egg. You are like a steel magnolia. My hat is off and I thank you for giving me strength. I don't know you but I like you. Take care. I will tell it to the tater, you rock.
