jgrandst Posted August 12, 2006 Posted August 12, 2006 Ok, im 19, just starting a Long distance relationship with the love of my life. We have been together for 1 yr and 11mo. We have never had a serious fight, or had complications, but since the distance has come into play we seem to be having more problems. I trust her with all my heart, but some of the guys who happen to be good friends of hers has started asking her out and trying to get closer since we have been apart. I'm (admittadly) starting to get uncomfortable with the guys around her. unfortunately, im not currently financially stable at the moment and i dont have a phone so we have been communicating over the internet. I am curious if anyone has any thoughts or ideas on the situation? I trust her but i dont trust the guys with her (if that makes any sense). I'm starting to lose hope for us working out, but i love her and i want it to. Another thing that is bothering me is alot of her habits have been changing since i left. She has started to drink (which i have no problem with except for the fact that its only when 2 particular male friends of hers are around her), she has started to dress a little more...towards skimpier clothes rather than what she was wearing when i was there, and i am starting to get jealous i guess. any suggestions? thoughts?
nikerun21 Posted August 13, 2006 Posted August 13, 2006 your in serious danger, the odds are good she's going to drop you, simply put when you leave someones life and dont hang out they eventualyl move on and succum to temptation i lost the love of my life, i just was dumb and graduated college and went home and in a month or two she dumped me and now she wont speak to me and im coming back to college and she has a new bf, so be warned your fate is coming. Dont leave the love of your life thats what i learned.

Sounds like she just started a new life, dude high school romance is totally immature and juvenile compared to college life where meeting young people who live far away from parents and free to do anything. It's almost over dude. I would dump her asap.

She has denied people who have asked her out (unfortunately i got jealous and had a friend watch her for awhile for me, and she told 2 guys she was with me, and even though i wasnt there i was still with her). So I'm a little uncomfortable with the guys she is around cause she is...naive. She didnt believe me that one guy had a crush on her, when he made it obvious, until he asked her out, and she told him no. I love her to death so im not gonna give up on her, but any suggestions on ways to surprise her, or something special i could do for her, because our 2 yr anniversary is in 1 mo, and i want to make sure its something special.

Oh, that's so sweet. How far away is she, and how often (could and) do you visit? (And what about her visiting you?)
Author jgrandst Posted August 14, 2006 Author Posted August 14, 2006 Well we are 300 miles apart from each other (approx.) and my car has broken down so i have trouble getting up there until i can afford to get it fixed. I'm trying to visit her about once a month, but im in school and i dont get very long breaks, so i dont really have much oppurtunity. I love her to death, and i want to visit so im working on my car little by little. Last time she came down here cause it was my b'day. but far as how often it happens, it has be a month since last visit, and rent kicking my ass at moment lol. but i am making it a point to be up there september 12, cause thats our 2 yr anniversary.
