From my experience, most guys who play the "nice guys finish last" sob story are the guys who are lame, act as complete doormats to their girl, or have a socially awkward personality. There is so much more than just being "nice"... I don't know any girl who would say, "yeah, I want to be with a jerk, and I can only dream that one day he'll beat the snot out of me" That said... I would like to be with a nice guy in the sense that he treats me well, would fit in with my family and is faithful. He must also have a good sense of humor, be able to stand up to me and tell me when I'm being a bitch, and doesn't bend to my every desire. I'm not the kind of girl who is into the flowers, making the guy pay on all the dates, and some sappy cinderella love story, to me that's a major turn off. I'm far more attracted to the proverbial 'bad boy'. Someone who I can just kick back and drink beers with, go to a football game, just hang out and have fun. Not to say that he has to be a jerk though, because I don't put up with that. So, in essence, it's about finding a balance.
