Spitkicker Posted August 8, 2006 Posted August 8, 2006 I have listened to love songs.. and all they do is get my emotions down into the gutter. I have been finding songs that are basically songs that are against the ex and I was wondering if anyone had songs they listen to that are like "screw the ex" type of songs. Method Man - Make ups 2 break ups Puddle of Mudd - Control Mary J Blige - I love you remix anyone else have some good screw the ex type of songs?
KittenMoon Posted August 8, 2006 Posted August 8, 2006 Apologies for the poppunk, but I do love this "screw the ex song": "Tell That Mick He Just Made My List Of Things To Do Today"- Fall Out Boy
sickkitty Posted August 8, 2006 Posted August 8, 2006 Linkin park - In the end try and listen to angry songs that helps trust me

on the edge Posted August 8, 2006 Posted August 8, 2006 A few I like are... Godsmack- Whatever I F*&king Hate You Garbage- Special Theory of a Deadman- Better Off
the_alchemyst Posted August 8, 2006 Posted August 8, 2006 I never see "Only" by Nine Inch nails mentioned; it's a great song. F*ck them. (Those bastard ex's, I mean) There is no you, there is only me. There is no f*cking you, there is only me . . . Only. Lalala. Either that or "I Will Survive" by Gloria Gaynor. It's really upbeat, so it's easy to get into, and the lyrics are right on.
KLG Posted August 8, 2006 Posted August 8, 2006 I love this one: F**k it I don't want you back by Eamon
kbah Posted August 8, 2006 Posted August 8, 2006 "Don't Call Me Baby" by Madison Avenue (it is kinda gender specific tho....good for girls)
littlekitty Posted August 10, 2006 Posted August 10, 2006 Kelis: I hate you so much right now Adam Sandler: Love Stinks! Alanis Morissette: You Oughta Know No Doubt: Ex Girlfriend

loveinlife Posted August 13, 2006 Posted August 13, 2006 Jojo- too little too late just came out, love this song
leopardprint Posted August 13, 2006 Posted August 13, 2006 Evanescence just came out with a new single, "Call Me When You're Sober" (obviously, not literally meaning drunk off of alcohol). I've been through it a hundred times with my current-S.O.-now-gone-ex. He breaks it off, then questions his decision, then doesn't know what he wants, and keeps me hanging around - nothing but "I don't know..."s, and "I need time..."s. and "I don't want you out of my life completely..."s, but "I still love you and care about you..."s.
leopardprint Posted August 13, 2006 Posted August 13, 2006 And I know these are kind of lame songs, but they are, none the less, against the ex. Christina Aguilera's "Fighter" Kelly Clarkson's "Snice You've Been Gone" Kelly Clarkson's "Gone" Kelly Clarkson's "Walk Away" (obviously she has A LOT of anger towards her ex's in her Breakaway album. Almost every other song is screaming at some guy for being a moron!) My favorite lines from this song go: I wanna love I want a fire To feel the burn My desires I wanna man by my side Not a boy who runs and hides Are you gonna fight for me? Die for me? Live and breathe for me? Do you care for me? 'Cause if you don't then just leave (I think there are more anti-ex songs on this album but those are the only ones I've had a chance to listen to.)
Pink Amulet Posted August 13, 2006 Posted August 13, 2006 I have three CDs worth. I will make a list later.

Marlien Posted August 19, 2006 Posted August 19, 2006 If you're into less recent music, I've got a few that work. Gloria Gaynor's "I Will Survive" is a pretty typical "against the ex" song. I'm not so sure about Aretha Franklin's "Respect", but it cheers me up nonetheless.
AriaIncognito Posted August 19, 2006 Posted August 19, 2006 Evanescence just came out with a new single, "Call Me When You're Sober" (obviously, not literally meaning drunk off of alcohol). OMG i freaking LOVE this song. I've put it on loop and literally have listened to it for hours. I'm gonna try to get a band I occasionally sing with (or one I might join in the near future) to learn it so I can sing the crap out of it while thinking of past broken hearts :-) (or you know, current ones hehe) Jennifer
