Ok here is the story.

I am from Norway. I went to Iceland on vacation. Met a great girl. I was there for 7 days and I think that she is the girl for me in my life. We like the same things, are perfect for each other..(We are both 27yrs old)..bla bla bla bla....You know the rest.

I like this girl alot. I call her all the time and we send text messages and talk on MSN all the time. She feels the exact same way as me. She is head over heels for me, and wants to make this work. She is very open about moving to Norway or me going to Iceland.

Money is not a problem. I just ordered a ticket for me to go there for 8 days in october, and also I am going to fly her here for a weekend of two. I have a great job that pays well, and it is only a 2 and a half hour flight. My questions to you smart people out there....

Do LDRs actually work?

How many of you have ever been in an LDR and actually forgot about the girl-guy or the girl-guy actually forgot about you?

Any tips for a rookie in an LDR??

I am crazy about her and she feels the same. I think this could be the girl I marry! Im not used to these LDRs....but it is working very well right now...

Thanks,

LDR beginner

Well I'm 20. I was once in an LDR for 4 months or so.

We were in the same state, but hundreds of miles apart.

We saw each other about 2 months at a time.

My feelings for him naturally diminished, as we were being physically apart and didn't get to see him much.

It seemed like our lives were going in different directions.

He was going to meet someone else in college and I would too.

We're still great friends though.

And I have met someone that we talk about marriage all the time.

We've been together for 6 months.

So that's MY input. :)

LDR's can work, though.

If it's meant to be, it will be.

Good luck!!

Let me put it to you this way, have you ever heard of a LDR that works out? I sure havnt. I suppose there would be some exceptions but, not that much. From experience and from word of mouth LDR's never work out.

Maybe there is some other way? If you are already flying out there and stuff would it be so drastic for one of you to move in with each other once you get to know each other more? Since you have a good paying job, maybe she could move in with you, eh?
