Sand&Water Posted August 1, 2006 Posted August 1, 2006 I woke up a day ago with a swollen toe. It is not infected, nor does it have any cuts. It is awfully painful, and now I walk with a limp. So, I'm wondering what could be the cause of the swelling? Perhaps I tore a muscle or two? Broken bone? I don't see it necessary to go to the doctor for such a minor thing. However, if it persists I may have to go. Any suggestions/ideas are welcome. Thank you.
Outcast Posted August 1, 2006 Posted August 1, 2006 Could be anything. Only a doctor can tell you for sure. You can do a search on a medical site for swollen toe and come up with a stack of potential causes.
stoopid_guy Posted August 1, 2006 Posted August 1, 2006 I'd see a doctor. Happened to me a few years ago and it was gout (hurt like heck.) He gave me a list of foods to cut back on and no problems since.
