Shadow2343 Posted August 1, 2006 Posted August 1, 2006 I have been with my girlfriend for 2 and a half years, living together for almost 2. She is not an American citizen, coming from Japan to attend school. In the beginning things were great, and I truly loved her and had passion in our relationship, but now things have really gona stale. Half the time we are either fighting or in bad spirits with each other, and the other half is just okay. Things have been this way for some time now, but I will be going off to college (a little late I know) this fall, and I doubt that our relationship will survive. The difficult part is that I think most of her reason for staying in the USA for the past year or so has been in large part because of me. She IS going to school, but she had told me before that she would rather go back to Japan to school, where she could finish early and for much less money, but she doesn't want to leave me. She has a real dream of our future that I just don't see myself. If I would break up with her, it would be very one sided, and it would probably destroy her, as years if her life in this country would have been all for nothing (not to mention lots of money wasted). I'm also the only "family" she has here, and has no one to fall back on and support her emotionally. I just don't know if I can continue in this relationship however, if I don't feel it anymore. Advise?
Sally00 Posted August 1, 2006 Posted August 1, 2006 All I can say is that you can't keep leading her on like this if you just don't feel it anymore. You're just making it worse. However, you can still be her friend and still be there for her through the tough times...
