Tony T Posted July 28, 2006 Posted July 28, 2006 You'll get better, more comprehensive answers to this question by Googling for websites from recognized medical organizations than from a forum frequented by untrained anonymous persons. I think one of the symptoms is you wash your hands a lot. However, I think that's a good idea...do you have any idea how many germs there are on door knobs, other people's hands, levers, faucets, steering wheels? Have you noticed how many people urinate in public bathrooms, don't wash their hands and walk out the door...handing the door knob or whatever. Hey, maybe I'll Google along with you...HA!

agnf666 Posted July 28, 2006 Posted July 28, 2006 haha any others besides washing hands alot like obsessing over a guy? Obsessing over a guy is normal at your age. That is not OCD. That is just normal Teenage hormones. So, your fine. Everyone on here has obsessed over a guy or girl at some point of time in out teenage years.
Zeeboo Zebuloo Posted July 31, 2006 Posted July 31, 2006 Unwanted repetitive thought and numerous unusual rituals to successfully get through the day. You might also have some irrational germophobia & hyper-hygienic/organizational tendencies-but also hoarding and cluttering too. Some people living with OCD are tactile-defensive or repulsed/terrified by unritualized contact.

newbby Posted August 1, 2006 Posted August 1, 2006 ocd is usually very distressing to the sufferer, the thoughts are all consuming, and any way to alleviate them is sought, which results in the compulsion. the compulsion only stops the thoughts for a matter of seconds and so the relief is temporary. although most people get obsessive when they are in love, this is not the same type of obsession as ocd sufferers experience, these obsessions are usually extremely terrifying. however, i am not a doctor, and so if you are concerned, you should seek medical advice or look symptoms up on the internet.
Outcast Posted August 1, 2006 Posted August 1, 2006 I seriously doubt this is OCD. It could be a lot of things so if you're driving your friends nuts because you keep bugging them, then go see your school counsellor and find out why you need to keep being in everybody's face.
