Guest Posted July 27, 2006 Posted July 27, 2006 I dont think its really a problem but i just thought i would put it out there...my SO basically lives with me (although technically he lives at home with his parents) My question is this - some nights we will be cuddled up watching a movie or maybe just finished having sex and he will decide to go home. Or I will ask him earlier in the evening if he plans on staying over and he will say he doesn't know but then later he wants to leave. (this is at like 11, 12 o'clock - sometimes later and he lives 45 minutes away) Now I'm not thinking that he's cheating or anything that hasn't even crossed my mind - but why does this happen? Do men just need more "space" than women? Is this normal behavior? Inquiring minds want to know...
Tony T Posted July 27, 2006 Posted July 27, 2006 Everybody's different. Regarding his leaving patterns, there is no such thing as normal...it's an individual thing. Google "circadian rhythm". He could have a medical problem that causes him to get tired earlier that others...or leaving at that time could just be part of his rhythm, after all midnight is late. Once he leaves, he's got to drive all the way home...get ready for bed, etc. I think he needs to know you have a problem with this. This is part of dating and if you can't understand why a man would want to get home at night and rest up, then you may not be showing the understanding that he may require of a future mate or even a girlfriend. Frankly, his behavior sounds quite normal to me.
