Dysfunctional two-parent homes

A lot of people go on and on about how most criminals and teen moms come from single-parent homes or have absent fathers, which is true, but they fail to realize that dysfunctional two-parent homes do exist as well. Just because someone came from a two-parent home doesn't mean there were no problems. Some serial killers, sex offenders, and robbers came from two parent homes and some of the most successful people came from single parent homes.

Honestly, I think it might all depend on how you grow up in the Single Family home. I mean my life wasn't all that bad. I live with my Dad. I have for about 13 years now. He raised me and my brother and we actually turned out better then some of the kids that we know that lived with both of thier parents.

 

I know alot of kids that come from broke homes, and some of them are really good kids.

I grew up in the two-parent home, and it was a nightmare. I sometimes think it would have been better if my mother had divorced my alcoholic father, but then I doubt she'd have turned her attention to her children, so it would have been worse bouncing between narcissists.

 

I think it depends on the people involved. But no, traditional two-parent homes aren't always what everyone thinks they are.

I think a large number of two-parent homes are dysfunctional. That would include the one I grew up in and the one most of my children grew up in. In fact, I 've known very few that aren't on some level or another. I can probably count them on the fingers of one hand.
