SUMMER 1969 Posted July 25, 2006 Posted July 25, 2006 Lets see, how to put this in words... Well, I am almost 30 years old and I have been dating a man for about a year now, he is 33 years old... We live about a hour and a half away from one another, we talk all of the time on the phone and when he has off work we take turns going to see each other.. We don't fight and we had a pretty good reationship.. until a few nights ago we were together and I asked him how he felt about me.. ( Bad move on my part ) he told me that he cares a lot about me, but is just not falling in love with me.. So I left his house and told him that we are over.. If he does not love me now, he never will..... So, now I am telling him ( over the phone ) that I still want to be with him and I don't want to lose him.. He told me that he does not want to hurt me anymore then he already has and for me to stop stressing out and not to blame myself for how he feels.. I then told him that I miss him, he told me he misses me as well.. This is where I need your help.. He answer my phone calls all of the time, and he even calls me to tell me that he is going to bed and he will call me tomorrow.. What is he trying to do here? I mean, he knows he hurt me, he knows I am sad and he knows I did fall in love with him.. Why is it then that he answers all of my phone calls, and he calls me all of the time as well? Is it at all posable that maybe he is confussed? Or do you think maybe he just feels guilty? Any advise would be helpful Thank you.
trebon Posted July 25, 2006 Posted July 25, 2006 I am getting similar mixed signals in my situation. I think that he is looking out for someone he cares about. Just because he is not 'in' love doesnt mean he doesnt love you. Maybe in time he would grow into love, maybe not, but he still cares. Good luck
