tinktronik Posted July 25, 2006 Posted July 25, 2006 Good grief, My boys are a lot of work ! Anyone else here raising multiple boys? Is it normal for them to hit each other exsesivley ? I've done the suggestions , Im consistent rewarding and do the punishments , but they will not stop picking on each other. I've even asked my boys and they have decided that the punishments are worth fighting with each other . So I've made the discipline harder , and they still do it .I reward for good behavior consistently , discipline for breaking the rules consistently .But nothing stops it .I've talked to grown men who were raised with brothers and they just laugh at me and tell me to keep the doctors number handy.... How have others managed this?
Asafan Posted July 25, 2006 Posted July 25, 2006 I have two boys, 7 and 2 and a half, and when they are together the antagonize each other. Actually the 7 year old is a bit of a cry baby and the 2 year old is the instigator most of the time. It's just what boys do. They don't beat each other up severely, they just like to egg each other on and cause trouble with one another.
superconductor Posted July 25, 2006 Posted July 25, 2006 My brother and I are 4 years apart (I'm older) and when we were growing up we were ALWAYS fighting. Must have driven my mum crazy. He'd tease me and goad me on, then when I'd finally break and respond I'd get slammed upside the head by mum or dad would pull out the belt. It's perfectly normal. It's even healthy, in a way, because boys seem to have a need to roughhouse.
