Three days ago I found out that my husband cheated on me with a woman at his office. This happened over a year ago, and now this woman is engaged. I had always questioned their relationship, but never thought that we would act on any feelings he might be having. After threatening to leave him if he wasn't completely honest with me, he admitted to kissing her. I am devastated because I know that their connection was more emotional than physical. He keeps insisting that they never slept together. But if I had to force the fact that they kissed out of him, how can I be sure? This is tearing me up inside, and I don't know what to do. I just don't feel like he is the man that I thought he was. When I look at him now, it's like looking at a stranger. Any guidance or advice would be greatly appreciated.

I think since it is tearing you up inside you definitely have to get the two of you in counseling to find out why this happened. Of course you feel betrayed and would look at your H different. Why do you think their tryst was more emotional than physical when he's kissed her?

You may not ever be totally sure. Examine yourself. Decide if you want to be with him regardless, or if you absolutely must know. If the former, then try to heal without insisting on knowing all of the details.

He probably isn't the man you thought he was. Most of us tend to look at our husbands through pretty rose colored glasses. Really, though, they are just human, like us. They make mistakes - sometimes some pretty devastatingly bad ones.

The two of you need to get to a marriage counselor and start working on straightening out your marriage. Best of luck to you.
