We met at work through mutual friends, though we work in different departments and never see each other at work. (In order to keep romance separate from work, the only time we see each other during work hours is during an occasional lunch). However, we are almost inseparable during the off work hours. So imagine my surprise when last night, while we were cuddling, he mentioned that he was still "technically dating" another girl from work. When I pressed for details, he said that they had dated a few times before he met me and that they had not gone out since. He later said that he had liked her a lot but she had not returned the interest and when he met me he knew that there was "something there." He also said that if she ever asked him out again, and he doubted she would, he would tell her that he had met someone else while she was on vacation (she's been out of state for three weeks). I've been hurt by "players" before. I don't know if I believe him...I don't know if its my gut feeling or just the result of being hurt so many times before. I'm open to your viewpoints.
