lonepearl Posted July 16, 2006 Posted July 16, 2006 i wanna know.. consider these scenarios in a heterosexual relationship: 1.the female earns more than the male but has equal status at work e.g. both are general managers 2.the female earns less but has a higher status / rank at work e.g. CEO vs him being asecretary or something 3. female earns more but has lower status than the male in her job, 4. female and male earn same, female has higher status 5. female earns less and is lower satus. how would you rank which one messes up a relationship the MOST to the LEAST.... and why? this is just trying to get more info re my other listing "WHAT AM I DOING WRONG" in the general disccusions and this is yet another layer of issues...

Why are you even worrying about financial positions...he has NO financial position...he's been freeloading off you for 3 years, and treating you like crap the whole time. Right now, you are in the position where you own your home (that he's living in without paying rent or bills), and you are the one with the corporate job, while he is 'studying' and telling you that you are ugly and worthless. Dump him now.

Personally, I'd say if ANY of those presented a problem, then the relationship's pretty weak. Shouldn't anyone who cares about you want you to be as successful and happy as possible? And if you really care about someone, should it matter if they're less proffessionally successful? Now, if you had a love interest who couldn't afford soap and basic grooming supplies, THAT might make a difference...
