AwkwardMan Posted July 13, 2006 Posted July 13, 2006 Cliff notes: Girl 1 IMs me while we're both at far away colleges and flirts with me, we meet up and do one thing together and she pretty much stops IMing me and our conversations are extremely strained if I IM her. I've been on two dates with Girl 2 and there has been no physical contact, both have been pretty short, she is shy, I've got no game, but does she just want me as a friend? Long version: So anyways, I'm a couple months out of a fairly long relationship (2 years) and once again thrown into the dating scene. I'm home from school for the summer and working (guess not that hard since I'm posting from work ) and I have just been in touch with a few girls and I'm not quite sure my situation with either. Girl 1 was a grade below me in high school, and we never really talked, but we were both in jazz band and on a week long trip to Europe we were sort of hooked up for the first five days or so. Then I apparently weirded her out at some dinner and she sort of avoided me. Her roommate/close friend didn't understand what Girl 1 was thinking either. So, a year later I'm working in retail and at the same mall she is, and we talk and visit eachother to talk during breaks and such. We act like we're going to get together for something, but it's not really going to happen since I had a clingy g/f that wouldn't have appreciated it. So life goes on and randomly in March she starts IMing me and flirting with me. She even goes as far as to jokingly, but still inappropriately IMO, tell me to break up with my g/f. A couple months later, my g/f and I break up (unrelated), and a month later she notices (via Facebook) and bitches me out for not telling her this. In her last week of school, she dates some dude for like a week and a half and then comes home. We're still IMing and meet up and get lunch and go to our HS's graduation. She's very friendly with hugs and such and it seems to go fine. After I drop her off at her house that night though, she just stops talking to me. She'll respond to my IMs that are open-ended with yes and no and basically doesn't converse. So I'm confused, and it's now been a month since we really talked. Anyways, life goes on and stuff happens. This cute smart shy girl, Girl 2, who I sort of knew in high school has messaged me on Facebook in reply to generic one line comments on her wall. I message her back and she goes off to teach SAT prep in Korea for June. She returns in July and I ask if she wants to go out to dinner, so we do. We have a nice long dinner on Thursday, but at the end we go our separate ways (we drove in two cars) and I think I kind of blow it here by not going for a hug/kiss/whatever at the end. So I have a fun weekend, and I IM her on Tuesday to ask if she wants to go bowling (She mentioned how big it was in Korea or something.) yesterday. So we go, and we seem to have a good time, but again it's like two hours and we just go our separate ways at the end of the night. So now we've been on two dates and I've barely even brushed against her. Is this a surefire sign I'm headed to friendland?
