Hi,

I was wondering if there is a way to recover text messages from cell phones...my wife hides her cell phone all the time....when I have had a chance to check it... all text messages are gone... I know she text messages alot to everyone....

She has been acting suspiciously lately and I want to find out if she is seeing or talking to someone else....

I need to know.

Once they are deleted, that's it. If she's using text messages to talk to a paramour, she's smart enough to get rid of the evidence.

Suspecting your spouse of cheating is NO WAY to live. Hire a private detective or follow her yourself. Then get a divorce. You shouldn't stay with somebody you don't trust. That's a nasty existence.

I second this.

If your gut is screaming at you about your spouse it's because your subconscious is picking up things which you are either missing or ignoring. You are the person who knows her best. You know whether she is cheating or not. Deleted phone messages in my book, always suspicious. Why do it if not...?

Is past behavior truly a good predictor of future behavior?

I also believe you have to have trust but is it always a nasty existence? I'm amazed at what I see some BS's put up with. I know because I recently was the OW of a man that has been separated three times over a ten year period for being unfaithful. They are "trying again for the children" and he recently sent me a text message stating how terribly difficult this is for him. I feel stupid and used but nevertheless, I don't understand how living without trust in a marriage is terrible but yet people seem to do it pretty frequently?

There are forensic tools to recover bits of information on mobile phones.

IMO, if one goes to that length to mistrust a spouse or any SO then it brings up other deeper issues. Trust, mistrust of SO, and depending on who pays the phone bills (ie. company or govt) it can even be viewed as theft.

IMO, best to confront and be open about it. Usually the intuition and subconscience does tell a few things.

I 3rd that.

You can see the number where the texts came from on the bill but not recover the actual texts.

Often times you can log onto your s/o's cell phone account online too.

Hi. You can recover texts with Cingular (former AT&T) not sure how it works with other carriers. I know someone who has all of their text messages emailed to them AFTER they were erased from his phone. Only thing is you're suppose to be that person to get that info.

Good luck :)

Do you have any info on how to get this? I'm in a similar situation right now and would love to see exactly what messages have been going back and forth between my wife and someone else.

Any help would be appreciated. I do have a Cingular phone.

Well I know the person was able to retrieve it because they were text messages exchanged between us and I had erased them because he kept them on his phone for a long time..anyway, after I erased them, he sent me an email with the text messages. I asked him how in the world he got it and he said that he called up cingular and told them he wanted the text message and they emailed them to him.

Not that I am encouraging you, but I'm sure you have all of her info, so if I were you (yes I'd do it!!), I'd have a female call up cingular and have the text messages sent to you.

Let me know how that works out.

Strange thing is I called Cingular and asked if I could get them emailed to me. The cust support person told me no, they don't have them.

I have the record of text messages going in and out, date and time. It doesn't list the message itself though. This info is on the downloadeable monthly statement. The cust support person told me the message itself is only available from the phone and once it's erased it's gone. She erases them after she reads them.

Is there any way you could see if I need to call a special department? This was actually my second time calling them about this. The phone is in my name so I'm basically requesting my own info.

Thanks

Alltel is great about answering your specific questions about such matters....... give them a call. I do not see it marked on my online bill either or as a specific billing label.... perhaps they come out as MM?

As the acct holder you have the right to ask for specific information.

Also I just noticed a thing on my phone with Location on it uses GPS this may be useful to you as well...... you can find out where he and the phone are without him knowing ....... I may do a little location searching myself LOL!

...this text message business is just beyond me.

I'll look at the bill again in regards to the MM calls...my bf is usually home texting in front of me...location is not my problem...

It's just like he has to have the phone open, checking for calls, it's like his security blanket...I am so beyond the cell phone as a life line...:o

He sits in front of you and texts?

Who exactly does he say he's texting??

Most guys and men that I know do not text each other- and if they do it's rare!

Unless he's really young then I'd be very concerned.

i just called Cingular an asked to have any text messages sent or received from husbands phone to my email (i'm the cell phone account holder) and they said they could not do that. you can only see the time date and number once the billing cycle has actually past, but the texts are gone once they are deleted.

Easy take hubby or wifes phone when they are not around text a message to the number on your bill and wait for a reply text..do at night or something..you can also get texts from internet without using your phone number just an email addy..good luck if someone is hiding phone from you they are hiding something!!
