If you are in a relationship, how long have you been with your boyfriend/girlfriend? How long did ya'll know each other before ya'll started going out? How long did ya'll date till ya'll started using the boyfriend/girlfriend titles? Do ya'll talk about marriage? If so, when did ya'll first talk about it? Well, as for me... I am 20. I've been friends with my b/f for 14 months. We dated for 3 1/2 weeks. Then we started using the boyfriend/girlfriend titles. We've always talked about marriage. I think we started to around the first month of officially dating?? We both have always wanted someone we can end up potentially marrying. Afterall, what is the point of dating? Hehe. And now we've been DATING for almost 6 months. I feel so good about this relationship. In the past... guys just led me on, played with my emotions, etc. This is the first time I've been friends with a guy for a long time before we started dating. I've never been happier.

Pretty soon, don't remember exactly, she was pleased when I first said it. Do ya'll talk about marriage? If so, when did ya'll first talk about it? She mentioned it first after a few weeks, I am ok with the talk, but need more time in all honesty.

I remember we first started dating around the time of Katrina because we were at my place watching the coverage. I had just met her After about 2 months We are engaged right now. One day out of the blue she proposed and I said yes.

But it's not totally official to where we're gonna tell everyone about it and start planning. I want to wait till after college. And the ring doesn't matter to me. The LOVE does. We just passed the 8 month mark. We dated a little over a month before we became official, and the M word has yet to be mentioned, nor will it, at least from my mouth for a long time. Besides that, this relationship is going great. We get along with each other and we respect each other. We don't need to play games to keep things good between each other.

We spoke via email for about 3 weeks before we met up. From then on it was a done deal! How long did ya'll date till ya'll started using the boyfriend/girlfriend titles? A few weeks! Do ya'll talk about marriage? If so, when did ya'll first talk about it? We talked about marriage as a subject when we first talking. But with regards to our own marriage, by about 6 months in we both knew we'd found the right person. We've set the date for next year.

How long till we used bf/gf: Not yet but we are exclusive...I will be glad to hear the word! How long till we talked about marriage: Second date; Not that we wanted to get married to each other but "do you believe in marriage; what kind of person do you want to marry".

I don't know when we started using the BF/GF titles or even what the official date (anniversary) of our "begginning" was - it's just something wonderful and amazing that happened - or as my BF fondly refers to our meeting - it was "kismet"

If so, when did ya'll first talk about it?" A very young -and happy- 45. (Smile) Soon to be 46 in August. At my age, we don't call it 'dating' -we say we're "seeing" someone- takes the pressure off. ('nother Smile). I did not know him, previously. We have been seeing each other since this summer. It's an intimate relationship. We don't use girlfriend/boyfriend as a title -we simply use the names we were born with. Pre-discussion of where we were in all aspects of our lives took place within two weeks of our first meeting. With that settled, we've moved on to further discussion, continued to immensely enjoy each other's company, and are delighted with everything that's developed so far. How each of us feel about marriage was one of the topics of discussion: turns out we're both the 'marrying' type. Still, neither one of us is foolish enough to inject the idea, nor make premature proposals -certainly not this early (we've learned better). -Rio

We were on and off for a while because i wasnt sure of my feelings and he definitely was. Do ya'll talk about marriage? If so, when did ya'll first talk about it? we have talked about it, but we arent there yet. We need more money and stability in our carreers before something like that happens. I'd say another year or 2 until we get engaged.

If so, when did ya'll first talk about it? We don't talk about it. We've talked about wanting a partnership - we both do. I'm a little concerned because I do want the relationship (eventually) to move beyond dating to living together/marriage, but I'm a unsure how to bring this up. He hasn't been in a serious relatoinship in a long time and I think we need to go slowly.

We've been friends for about 20 years...the first time we started dating was about 7 years after we met, then again off and on a few years later. This time, we weren't dating for about 5 years before starting again. How long did ya'll date till ya'll started using the boyfriend/girlfriend titles? Hmm, don't know if we even use those titles now, really. I call him my honey, and he calls me the woman in his life. Do ya'll talk about marriage? If so, when did ya'll first talk about it? That was one of the first things we talked about when we started seeing each other this time.

I had moved with my family 5 yrs ago and met him through the fact that we lived up the road from each other! It was fate! We had always been best mates throughout those yrs. Then about 7 months ago it started getting a little more serious and I told him I wanted to be with him. He told me he wanted to be with me! (sigh) it just happened... How long did ya'll date till ya'll started using the boyfriend/girlfriend titles? Well, we were just mates for those yrs, then as I explained above, we just, sort of, became a couple... We were friends for five years, and former coworkers, before I asked her out. For the first three of those years I was married to the ex. "Boyfriend" and "girlfriend" didn't seem to fit at our ages (48 and 50). Besides, we were engaged two weeks after our first date and married six weeks later -- too short a period for any titles but husband and wife. As for talking about marriage, see above response.

Curmmie, I have read many of your posts where you seem to always find an opportunity to praise, lift up, and talk about the wonderful person you are married to. I am tempted to be jealous. (Smile). One thing we agreed upon from the very beginning was that we both needed all the mistakes, bad choices and sorry experiences of our pasts to become the people we are and to be ready for one another. A decade earlier we wouldn't have even liked one another. Go figure!
