Guest Posted July 7, 2006 Posted July 7, 2006 I have been attracted to my best friend's sister for quite some time now. I am 19, she's 18, my friend is 20. I want to ask her out, but I don't know how my friend would react. What should I do? I really like her.
scrybe74 Posted July 7, 2006 Posted July 7, 2006 if your best friend really is your best friend then friends first...lovers second. Call your friend up, tell him/her that you have something important to talk to them about and meet up for dinner or something. After you sit them down tell them that they are you best friend and you value his/her friendship above everything else. Tell him/her that you like his/her sister and would like to ask her out but before that happens you want to make sure that your friend will be okay with it. It just shows respect and you won't be sneaking around behind their back. Keep in mind....you're not asking PERMISSION...you are an adult. But you would like his/her blessing. If your friends is NOT okay about the idea then you need to really consider if dating their sister is worth losing the friendship over. (I say no....you're too young to be dumping close friends for a girl) I guess if you were at the age for marriage and were seriously considering her as a candidate I would push it. But at your age....you might want to back off and wait a few years....and try again when everyone is older. But I couldn't imagine your friend saying no....unless you are a total jerk.
