Aloros Posted July 7, 2006 Posted July 7, 2006 Just as background, my ex and I broke up a few weeks ago. We'd dated for 5.5 years, and it's been on and off for the past few months. It was amicable, and I'm happier for it. Anyways, since we've broken up, I've been asked out a few times. I've declined politely since I'm happy right now on my own and I'm very wary of the rebound thing. There's a guy who works in the same building as me who I've been having lunch with and chatting with for a while. I think I first met him about a year ago. It's been pretty platonic (although I'll admit there was some instant chemistry), but I think it's starting to move out of the platonic territory. He's asked me a couple times to see a movie with him. I said maybe the first time, and ok the next. So we're going to see a movie together this weekend. Yikes! I'm very attracted to him and he's been very much the gentleman. But...I've been out of the dating game for so long. I have NO idea the dating protocol at all! Is this even a date? What makes a date? Who pays for what? Do people kiss on the first date? Second? I don't even know what I'm doing. I'm surprised he's stayed interested this long. My brother tells me I don't know how to flirt. I think he's right. I'm a very straightforward person... Help?
