DacaInaru Posted July 5, 2006 Posted July 5, 2006 ok.. so.. what do you call each other.. when you are 36 and the person your dating is 52.. using the term boyfriend/girlfriend seems soooo childish.. so any suggestions of what to refer to each other as???
blind_otter Posted July 5, 2006 Posted July 5, 2006 Lover. Partner. SO. Hell you can call each other booglesnatches, if you want.
Author DacaInaru Posted July 5, 2006 Author Posted July 5, 2006 I like that last one.. hmmm willl have to put it on my list of what we might refer to each other as.. LOL.. good one.
basscatcher Posted July 5, 2006 Posted July 5, 2006 my mother always refers to men as 'Man Friend". She stopped referring men as boyfriends when I got into my mid 20s.. She says you are friends until you are engaged.. Then your friendship develops into a real commitment until then you are friends. It's not a teenage relationship. My mother is 62. I still refer to boyfriend or SO when introducing a man; depending on whom and why I'm introducing him.. Ask your man what he would like to be referred as and you can suggest the same to him. Everyone is different and may have a preference for image or status reasons.
Guest Posted July 5, 2006 Posted July 5, 2006 Wench -R- HAHAHAHA... I'll have to be wearing my renfest outfit for that one.. hmmm he hasn't seen me in it yet.. lol..
MarnieGirl Posted July 7, 2006 Posted July 7, 2006 Lover. Partner. SO. Hell you can call each other booglesnatches, if you want. i definitely concur that at your age, booglesnatches is more than appropriate.
Jessimacuh Posted July 7, 2006 Posted July 7, 2006 What about "paramour"? That sounds exotic and no teeny-bopper I know would use it. I agree that you could call it whatever you like. Perhaps the two of you could discuss what you feel comfortable referring to your relationship as?
Author DacaInaru Posted July 7, 2006 Author Posted July 7, 2006 LOL>. you guys are just tooo much.. Victim/Wench/booglesnatches.. I don't know.. those sound pretty good.. damn I just realized I didn't log in when I commented on the wench.. lol..thanks all..
Stunner Posted July 7, 2006 Posted July 7, 2006 He doesn't know it yet but as I speak with my friends about him I call him "Sexy Coyboy Man". YEEEHHAAAAW! Seriously, as things develop he'll probably call me "Darlin'" in that lovely farmboy accent of his. I would probably pop out with "Sweetie".
