Is it normal to be completely heartbroken over loosing your cat, the cat you treated as if it were your best friend.

It tares me up knowing she could be out there lost, she woulden't make it and to top it off she hardly eats, shes pretty much handicapped.

I can't sleep and can't stop crying, It's pretty damn upsetting

There are many people who are far more attached to their animals than to human members of their family in a lot of ways. It's not abnormal to miss an animal that has passed.

Many people spend far more money on medical treatment for their animals than themselves.

Animals give unconditional love, they don't bxtch, they don't intentionally cheat (ha!), they don't lie, they are there for you at all times, they don't complain, they don't moan about what's on the dinner table, they always seem happy to see you, the don't say or do things to hurt you. Animals are just there in the very best way they can to serve you and love you...they do all these things until the very end.

Try to find just one human being who can come close to behaving the way a pet behaves.

I hope now you have some idea why you are so sad for loosing your cat. It offered you what you could hardly get elsewhere in your circle.

I was thinking about it, and I would have rathered her been dead than to just run off, because if she was dead I'd know she would be okay and now shes off outside lord knows doing what

Shes done this before, But I have literally looked in all places possible and even the impossible, i don't know how she could have gotten out but I guess I'll just wait and see

Don't cats go in to hiding sometimes? Shes done it before but I meen I don

t know...

Are they likely to come back if they've gone outside ( for the first time)

Brit- was your cat sick? Sometimes they will go off to pass alone and find peace. However, if this is her first time out she may just be lost.

I am sorry you have to go through this I hope your kitty comes back. I love my kitty like a child so I know how you feel.

Its very normal. I am very saddened everytime that we had to put one of our animals asleep or if they had run away. When I was 15, I came home from school and I found my puppy in the middle of the street. She had been hit by a car and I picked her up and held her as she died in my arms. I cried for the rest of the day.

She had some problems I think, She didn't eat sometimes and would always sleep and run away from everyone, but she slept with me and followed me every where, thats why It's really hard, she isn't a normal cat but there was no way of her getting out, she has to be in this house somewhere

Thanks though for the support I just hate feeling this way on the fourth of july It freaking sucks..

Does your house have crawlspaces or rafters? I had a cat once clib a pile of firewood in a garage and end up in the gap between the concrete wall and where the ceiling rafters began. It took HOURS to find her.

Look everywhere, even places you think are too small. Check drawers (my cat was climbing in my underwear drawer this morning and I am amazing how little space he needs) and cabinets.

She might pop up, but I think she got out some how, because I've looked in all the hiding places where she would usually be at and shes not, she is in heat by the way if that meens anything

Man I wish she would just pop up

I'm so desperate to get another cat I don't know why

If she's in heat she's probably found a way to get out. If she coems back you'll probably have a pregnant cat. I don't know if you want kittens, but you should either elect to have the kittens (and get them GOOD homes not dump them at the animal shelter to die) or have the vet do an abortion/spay process.

If you get her fixed, she wont try to wander so much and being fixed can extend her life significantly as well.

I would never even think twice about giving those kittens away to a shelter to be killed!

I woulden't mind as long as my cat came back home and safe, but I doubt she will find her way back here :-(

she might turn up I guess we will just wait and see but thanks for all the advice I appreciate it!

If she is in heat, and has gotten out, then I wouldn't be surprised if she came back eventually. I have had a few fixed indoors only cats get out, and come back within a day or so. They have a better sense of direction than you might think. Plus, a cat in heat will be unlikely to return until she's concieved. How long has your kitty been gone?
