Then, I would say the traditional affair was worse. (although perhaps this varies from respondent) I'm not sure if its a *gender thing* but I think an emotional affair is oodles time harder to walk away from than strictly a sexual one.

I am considering expanding a friendship. However I will have to lie in order to do it, because I wont be trusted. Then, upon the inevitable confrontation, I dont know how I will prove I am not having sex with this person.

I'm not sure if you were replying to me but I actually said that if a traditional affair was where both need types (sexual & emotional ) are met, that was worse. What I did say that for me, walking away from a relationship that was purely sexual is a cake walk compared to walking away from someone who was fulfilling my emotional needs. The void would be far greater in the latter instance.
