Breed Posted July 1, 2006 Posted July 1, 2006 Does anybody here have any experience or knowledge of the issue known as Gynaecomastia? Is there a way to remove it effectively with herbal remedies or is surgery really required? All i get when i google the subject is lots of miracle cures for it and expensive surgery options!
Tony T Posted July 1, 2006 Posted July 1, 2006 This malady usually occurs as a result of obesity. Rigorous and regular exercise along with a good diet should do wonders. You don't need to be thinking about surgery. Just lose the weight. If you want definitive information, do not look to this forum for such medical information. We are not trained physicians. Ask a competent, licensed physician to help you. Meanwhile, it's not going to hurt you at all to diet and exercise sensibly...that is, as long as you don't have any medical conditions which would preclude such.
Outcast Posted July 1, 2006 Posted July 1, 2006 You should absolutely see a doctor, but if you are going to google health issues, google the NIH, a noted university like Harvard, or a valid medical site like Medscape or Webmd. You won't get valid information on JoeBob's Fill Dirt and Medical Aids sites.
sugarplum Posted July 1, 2006 Posted July 1, 2006 I am no expert - but it is also a symptom of Kleinfelter's. I only say so because I know of a child with this. Correct - seeking medical advice on the web is not a good idea. However, I do it alot myself! I like WebMd
Guest Posted July 3, 2006 Posted July 3, 2006 I am a man with boobs. Know how I got them? I am an obsessed pot smoker and it made me grow boobs. If not that you need weight management.
ronnieromance Posted July 3, 2006 Posted July 3, 2006 Dude, go to the gym. If you don't have a tumerous growth in there and you're just dealing with fat, then excercise. -R-
The slayer Posted July 3, 2006 Posted July 3, 2006 Obesity is the probably the most common reason for gynaecomastia, but there are many different causes, some which can be easily be resolved, for example it is a side effect of many prescribed medications, some of which could potentially need medical treatment. So if the cause is clearly not obesity, I strongly recommend seeing a doctor.
Outcast Posted July 3, 2006 Posted July 3, 2006 It can be caused by hormonal problems and sometimes tumours. So it's better, IMHO, to see a physician rather than to assume it's obesity and starve yourself.
