I have a long time older gentleman friend who I've always thought to be gay. He's very soft-spoken, well dressed and cultured. Mutual aquaintances of ours have mentioned that he is gay. However, I know that he has a child as a result of a long ago relationship.

Recently, there have been meaningful pauses in conversations that lead me to believe that he may have feelings of more than friendship for me:

On one occasion, we met at his house and drove to an event. We were sitting in his car in his driveway and I was about to get out and go to my car when he asked, "Would you like to come in.......for a while?" I basically brushed him off saying I would like to but it was a work night.

Another recent situation was when he was conforting me about the death of a family member. He began to compliment me saying how well I'd handled things. He said I was very open-minded etc. Then he said, "That's why everyone loves you....and that's why I love you."

Some of my friends have seen us together and based his demeanor towards me and how he looks at me think that he has feelings for me. Could he have feelings stronger than good friendship for me?
