alfagrl Posted June 26, 2006 Posted June 26, 2006 A guy friend of mine (29) is dating an women (40). she is divorced and is still very much in contact w/ her ex. She has 3 children ranging from 16yrs to 5yrs. this women has a decent job, morgage and very independent. My guy friend(god bless his soul) is a 'nice guy' lives in his moms basement, goes to college every other year and has no clear direction. My first concern was he was a boy toy. He never met her friends or family nor has she his. but after a few months he did meet her kids. So I thought this may very well be ligit. The GF talks about moving out of state to get a new leash on life but doesn't know where. My friend invited himself along with her. He is getting excited and looking online for jobs in the areas that she mentioned but this women never invited him, never talked to him about their relationship in the future or if she even wants him to go. Recently this women went on a family vacation with her children and her exH. I found that very strange, (but to each is own.) he asks me what I think about her closeness to him. Example: there are times when they are out together and the eXH calls her cell and she holds long converstions with him. and she has not told the ex she is dating my friend. I don't know what to say to him. I find it fishy but do I tell him that. all in all I am the only one who knows he is dating her and he can be open with me because I am not judgemental but I have seeky suspesions about this one.
binevrywear Posted June 26, 2006 Posted June 26, 2006 He sounds more like somebody who lives his life like a scrap of paper on a windy street, content to see where the winds of fate will carry him. Still living with mommy at 29? No plans for himself beyond following a piece of gash to another city? He sounds like he needs vocational counselling to figure out what his true wants and life goals are. THAT'S what you should tell him. He's latching onto this woman because he truly is lost.
Author alfagrl Posted June 26, 2006 Author Posted June 26, 2006 I'm afraid he is going to get hurt. He is definaltely waiting on her to make his next move. What the worst part is he was finally going back to school and then he quit to take on a part-time job to save enough money to follow her. She doesn't even now where or when yet she is moving, but he wants to be prepared when she does. And now school is on hold once again. Boy(sigh).....I will tell him just that Binevrywear thanx for the advise.
