Diver012 Posted June 26, 2006 Posted June 26, 2006 Is so easy to get caught up in all the drama of a breakup. Especially when you were broken up with by a commitment phobic person. I tend to forget that and start analyzing what I could have done wrong, why did it end this way? Basically, WTF happened?!?!? I came accross this little explanation that explains the entire relationship I had with this woman perfectly... replace "him" with "her" its not gender specific... Comes on strong, appearing vulnerable and often more interested in you than you are in him.Indicates that you are “special” and that he has decided to pursue you.Does everything possible to impress you using his best dog-and-pony show.Goes out of his way to be with you, even calling just to say ”hello” or “I love you.” Engages openly in future talk, making plans for the two of you together—often referring to you both as “we.”Indicates with words or deeds that he is seeking a meaningful, monogamous relationship.Has a rocky relationship history, but makes you think (and probably even believes) this one will be different.I have kept saying on these boards that she never offered an explanation. She already did, shes a Commitment Phobic Person. We never ever had a chance.
liciabug2000 Posted July 2, 2006 Posted July 2, 2006 Here, Here Diver, Your relationship with your Committ Phob mirrors mine exactly. You have my ex's characteristics down perfectly. I felt like that was his issue and you confirmed that with this post. His ex wife did a number on him and now he is so screwed up. Oh he loved me so much(right off the bat), I was "the one", I was going to be his wife, then he got moody, wanted to be alone, then he just left me. Now, he's moved in with someone within 2 weeks of our break up. I guess she's "the one" and IM left here with my heart torn apart. I now know the signs for this type of man and if I ever get the slightest hint that this is what a future interest is coming with I am running in the opposite direction. Thanks for this post!
