a4a Posted June 22, 2006 Posted June 22, 2006 When my H and I got married I had invited some vegan and vegetarian guests I know through work and our personal life. I actually had three decline because we were serving meat at the reception. My H is not a vegetarian and we had 175 guests...... not only did our invite and website confirm that we had vegetarian and vegan dishes and vegan desserts even to make them feel welcome but I also called many to let them know in advance that they were going to have a massive selection of food from start to finish..... even soy milk for their organic coffee. My H is only 50% vegetarian (when I cook) and his family certainly is not........ so WTF about that......how is that for nut balls that declined a wedding invite because there would be cornish hen/ honey baked ham served to the meat heads?
Author BenJammin Posted June 22, 2006 Author Posted June 22, 2006 Ironic, don't you think? -R- okay, alanis. animals really are more civilized than her. i think she should be eaten instead, she should donate her body to meat eaters to save a pig. but not by me, i don't eat people. just thought i'd better be lcear about that, since food choice is up for scrutiny..

I wouldn't turn down the invite myself, but I can see why. Some people are strict enough that they don't want their food prepared in the same place, time, cookware as flesh. You want your caserole baked in a washed out bedpan? Same thing, really. -R-

Being serious now if you ever really looked at where food comes from and how it is handled you would probably be replused by some things... I mean come on now some people get very grossed out by the thought of eating dog or cat..... but many people do eat dog and cat. Perhaps she was very passionate about her reason to be repulsed by a simple burger, maybe she just learned about the actual slaughter and how meat is really handled? Most people are very shocked when they actually know what happens to a cow or a pig... the reality of slaughter. I had a meat eater tell me the other day that her brother went to a slaughter house to purchase meat for the first time........ saw the real side of it and he quit eating meat that day and has not touched it in 3 years. I am in the South so that is kinda shocking to me So its like anything else, what may really hold value to her and hold her passions may not be important to you. But at least she probably acts on how she feels instead of sitting and just whining about it like so many do. I am sure the OP has a passion or ideals that others may not agree with. So that is life......some people just handle themselves differently when they feel so passionate about something.
tanbark813 Posted June 22, 2006 Posted June 22, 2006 You want your caserole baked in a washed out bedpan? Same thing, really. Oh man... And out of the woodwork come the paranoid germaphobes.

Actually the smell of cooking meat so reminds me of the incinerator at the humane society..... same damn nasty smell of burning homeless pets. Really it is. To me it is repulsive.
a4a Posted June 22, 2006 Posted June 22, 2006 Oh man... And out of the woodwork come the paranoid germaphobes. When you can state you can kiss a girl who just blew another guy, and she is holding his spunk in her mouth as you deep throat her with your tongue..... come chat some more ........................................... :lmao: It's a personal choice....... that is all. Now here we go with the vegetarians being bashed..... love it. :lmao:

Some people call it being smug, elitist, paranoid...I call it evolving and becoming enough of a seeker of truth to critically think about, and weigh the issue, then make a desicion based on knowledge. Not being to lazy to break the mental and dietary slavery you were born into because you're too afraid and lazy to change. Or not. That's my issue with meat eaters. They are 99% of the time meat eaters because they always have been. Not because they really looked into it and thought it was the best choice. -R-

It's a personal choice....... that is all. Now here we go with the vegetarians being bashed..... love it. :lmao: Hey, I wasn't bashing vegetarians. If anything "meat heads" were getting bashed first. I understand people not wanting to eat meat for religious or ethical reasons but when it comes to "meat is soooo dirty" is just being naive. Ovens kill off the bacteria. You have bacteria all over and inside your body. And if you think veggies in the produce section are completely clean you're fooling yourself.

They evolved into meat eaters once they had the tools to hunt. And there is actually evidence that their mental capacity grew at a faster rate once they became omnivores due to the increased protein in their diets. Turning back to vegetarianism is de-evolving, not evolving.

Ovens kill off the bacteria. You have bacteria all over and inside your body. And if you think veggies in the produce section are completely clean you're fooling yourself. That's not the point. It's not about germs. It's about the fact that it is dead, charred, mutilated, bloody flesh. I mean, let's be frank here. I don't dig veins and gristle. That s*** is nasty to me. -R-
SmoochieFace Posted June 22, 2006 Posted June 22, 2006 And if you think veggies in the produce section are completely clean you're fooling yourself. Think Chi-Chi's, green onions, and E. coli.

I am a veg. for ethical reasons..... for s***.......... almost 25 years now, damn I am getting old! Meat is dirty. Chicken is the worst....you can google the feces factor yourself but that is not what I was getting at with the cum thing, I meant it to mean you would not want something in your mouth or in your food or around it that repulsed you either.... like a dude jerking off on your plate, wipes it quick with a paper towel, and then serves you a sandwich on it? :lmao: :lmao: My veggies come from my garden and I still wash them

There are more germs on your office keyboard and phone than on a public toilet seat. Does that mean you're never going to use it now?

Turning back to vegetarianism is de-evolving, not evolving. Actually our digestive system is not set up to handle meat..... it is far too long. This debate could go on and on. But what it boils down to is vegetarians are very passionate (or many are) and it is against the norm. So for some reason meaties and veggies can get quite s***ty with eachother over this topic. Now go eat yourself a bovine growth hormone burger and don't forget the fries! :p (notice multiple these )

Turning back to vegetarianism is de-evolving, not evolving. That's interesting. So, why aren't strict carnivores smarter than us? It's devolve, BTW. IDK, though. I'm not religious, but, now that you bring that up, I've always been inclined to think that people were vegitarians and that the original sin in the garden of eden was eating the "fruit" of a living being. Not an "pple." But, that's for another thread. -R-
Art_Critic Posted June 22, 2006 Posted June 22, 2006 I would like to interject that I just had a nice steak for lunch. Am I dirty and gonna die now ?
SmoochieFace Posted June 22, 2006 Posted June 22, 2006 Perhaps all the *germaphobes* should Google *skin mites* and see for themselves what lives on their skin 24/7... does that mean that we should all bathe in boiling water twice a day to get rid of them?

Does that mean you're never going to use it now? TAN don't you get it yet....... Meat on my grill....... is like sperm on your sandwich plate..... not the f***ing germs..... germs are every where ....... some bacteria and germs are awesome...... thus I use probiotics on on my horses..... I make them eat good bacteria for digestive reasons..... see we get the germ thing......but you are not getting the point that we do not want our potatoes on the same grill with a burger.... like sperm on your sandwich plate...... get it now? I still think your cute......
tanbark813 Posted June 22, 2006 Posted June 22, 2006 Actually our digestive system is not set up to handle meat..... it is far too long. Uhhh, yeah it is. I have no problem whatsoever digesting meat. Our teeth are also set up specifically for both meat and veggies.
