theman101 Posted June 20, 2006 Posted June 20, 2006 I would go for it, I'm a fairly shy guy when it comes to this kind of stuff and could probably relate to him. If he's showing some interest, like asking you personal questions, etc., then he definitely wants to go forward he's just a little afraid. In time he may do it, but if you want it done quicker do it yourself. I very much doubt he would reject you even if by some chance he isn't that interested, just because he's a courteous guy.
j.carsey Posted June 21, 2006 Posted June 21, 2006 I want this guy to ask me out but he's a little shy. He flirts with me but he hasn't approached me about a date yet. Maria I don't think it came up in what you describe, but just how well do you know him to begin with? Where did you meet him? Like is he a coworker, or a stranger more or less? Things like hinting at a date might go easier with someone you already know somewhat well. On the other hand, hinting at a date with a stranger is pretty low risk since you didn't even know them before, what can go wrong?
Author Maria33 Posted June 21, 2006 Author Posted June 21, 2006 That's one of the problems, he is a coworker. We don't work close together though. I've been checking him out for several months and then we finally met a couple of weeks ago. I am also separated but soon to be divorced. I know that some guys might not want to go there. So, I have many reasons for being kind of scared to ask him. I am trying to put myself out there without being to pushy. Your ideas are great, thanks a lot! I think I'll wait a little longer, maybe see how this week goes.
j.carsey Posted June 21, 2006 Posted June 21, 2006 Unlike many here, I don't see anything inherently wrong with dating a coworker. But really, hinting at a date is not a bad idea it's not going to make him freak out or anything. But maybe you shouldn't sleep with him too soon LOL from what I recall, in some states and countries it is illegal to sleep with a woman who isn't married to you. So until that divorce...
