Dragon12 Posted June 19, 2006 Posted June 19, 2006 I call this one girl and like the conversation isn't good like I called her last week after I got off work and the conversation sucked like the whole time I'm just asking her questions and she answers and ask me the same question like do u like rain? ya I like the rain what about u? and like when I talk to other girls I can say whatever and the conversation is good but with her it's different it seems like I limit myself from saying a dirty joke or something. We txt alot and she seems to say more in her txt's then she when she talks to me on the phone. Can anyone give me some advice on to have a good conversation with this girl?
AussieChick Posted June 19, 2006 Posted June 19, 2006 Maybe she's not a phone person, she might prefer to talk to someone in person, or txting rather than over the phone. I have a friend who hates talking on the phone, but will send mammoth txts or talk for hours in person.
LexiB Posted June 19, 2006 Posted June 19, 2006 Try asking more open-ended questions instead of ones that illicit "yes" or "no" responses like what you demonstrated. Try to come up with questions that will engage her. Do you have any clues about what she's interested in ~ maybe there's some mention in her texts? Use what you know about her to come up with better topics. i.e., if she's into soccer, asking her asking her what she thinks abt the World Cup games should light a fire in her. I'm not a big phone person myself and can be pretty quiet depending on who I'm speaking with but bring up anything having to do with shopping and you can't pay to shut me up:D Also, since conversation with her is so rough, it can't hurt to go into each call having a few of these topics on standby. destination_unknown Posted June 20, 2006 Posted June 20, 2006 Im just like aussie chicks friend - I am terrible at talking on the phone and probably appear to be pretty brain dead to someone who only converses with me via that medium! Will burn the ears off people in person and e-mail or text all day, but for some reason nada on the phone. I'm not sure there is much I could do to change it at this stage if it bothered somebody and its nothing about the person on the other end of the phone either. Maybe your girl is like this also, is it a long distance thing?
