fireflower_1984 Posted June 15, 2006 Posted June 15, 2006 I recently met this great guy. He and I have a lot in common and saw much of each other over the past 3 weeks. I was starting to fall in love again for the first time since my divorce 6 months ago. And then, on Monday, he and I were IMing each other and he suddenly states that he wants some time and space. He said that it was too soon after his last relationship ended. His ex was a controlling, manipulative person, but even so, they were together for 6 years, and he's only been single for 3 months before he met me. I know that it is hard to pick up your life after your heart is broken, but now my heart is broken. He still wants to IM and chat sometimes, but I haven't seen him since last weekend (he lives an hour away). We haven't even talked on the phone. He states that his ex did this to him-said that she needed a break and some space, and that it lasted 5 months. 5 months?! I feel like I can't even last 5 DAYS without being able to see him. I honestly thought that he was my second chance at love. He has stated many times that after his time and space is over, he wants to get back together, but he told me not to worry about him or wait for him. So now, I feel rejected (again). I was wondering if there were any words of advice or support out there that could kind of ease the pain, just a little bit. Thank you.
