Pink Amulet Posted June 14, 2006 Posted June 14, 2006 I know what you mean. I was punched in the face and had two of my front two bottom teeth ( I assume the guy was wearing a ring) broken. I got emergency caps, as I am still experiencing pain, they will need to remove the caps, and do root canal surgery if the pain does not subside. There is nothing quite like tooth pain *shakes head* I don't know if you can do it in the US (where I assume you are from) but here you can option for a potent dose of laughing gas as opposed to local anaesthetic. That's my choice! Good luck tomorrow anyway! In a few days you will be good as new and in much better shape than before! Hehe.
Ladywithafan Posted June 14, 2006 Posted June 14, 2006 oh god, had to be back in 1992/93...It was a tooth that originally got broke in half going over the handles while riding a bike....but when I had a bowl of ice cream on new Year's eve of 92 or 93, I got a wave of pain that was like no other...apparently, it had been festering w/infection and I guess the cold set it off... I had to be on penacilian for a week...it took about 15 shots of novacaine before I couldn't feel any drilling...it was horrendous...but that was due to infection. I had to have an oral surgeon go back in on that same tooth in 2003...and it was nothing like the first time... So, I as usual, the sooner your dentist catches this type of thing, the better off you will be...I go to the dentist 2x a year...used to go 4x....and still ended up with a bitch of a root canal... kit4kat Posted June 14, 2006 Posted June 14, 2006 Not a big fan of root canals... had to have 3 done at once. The worst part is, the numbing shots don't numb me all the way, ever! Yeah, so I always feel everything their doing. Good luck and I hope you feel nothing. I agree with Alpha, get some pain killers!!

But I must say that little bit of unenjoyment as far as the shots in the mouth etc, does help with you having any pain from those teeth(tooth). I still have to go back to have gum work done and a crown too. Good luck! Jade
Author laRubiaBonita Posted June 15, 2006 Author Posted June 15, 2006 well, iam back from the RC. it went good, no pain....he is a good numb-er! but i also had to have crown legthening, which basically means they cut back your gums.....fun, but he did that with a laser. i am still slightly numb, and on beer #3.... so i am good! he also gave me a RX for purcs! althogh pain meds make me itch..... i will probably dole them out to friends and family! anyways.... i have to go back on the 28th cause the tooth beside was also giving me some pain, and turns out that one has died...... poor tooth. so i will have another root canal then. god.... i love my teeth!

I'm right there with ya LRB. I had the one done, still have to have the crown lengthing and the crown for that one. Then I have another one that needs a root canal to at some point don't have that set up yet. I to go back on the 28th but this one is for a regular fillin. I really need to floss better. Jade
