Noos Posted June 3, 2006 Posted June 3, 2006 Okay - there's a guy I met through work who has turned up at my gym. I think he lives near me now. He's a few years younger (no more than 4 years younger) and we have a lot in common - same family background, same politics, similar world out looks. He wants to go out and I'm not sure because I'm nopt wildly attracted to him. We're perfect on paper so to speak and I like him very much but I'm not ga-ga (as Jerry & George and Kramer might say.) Should I go out with him and see if I do become wildly attracted to him? If so, how do I extricate myself gracefully from the situation if it just doesn't spark for me? Has anyone else gone into something half-hearted;y and found it was the best chance they ever took?
alphamale Posted June 3, 2006 Posted June 3, 2006 Should I go out with him and see if I do become wildly attracted to him? one or two dates could not hurt but I personally don't recommend dating co-workers... If so, how do I extricate myself gracefully from the situation if it just doesn't spark for me? You just say that it did not spark for you or that the romantic aspect is missing from your end. No big deal
Author Noos Posted June 3, 2006 Author Posted June 3, 2006 He's not a co-worker. He came in to see my boss.
westernxer Posted June 3, 2006 Posted June 3, 2006 Go for it. If no spark, then don't go on a second date with him. I'm just reiterating what Alpha told you.
Outcast Posted June 3, 2006 Posted June 3, 2006 Has anyone else gone into something half-hearted;y and found it was the best chance they ever took? More than once. So now I never discount someone just because the sparks aren't flying right away. Sometimes the sparks really don't get going until you kiss - I guess it's the pheremones or something. So go out with him and see if you enjoy his company. If you do but still haven't had sparks, wait until you've kissed - things might change radically!
AriaIncognito Posted June 3, 2006 Posted June 3, 2006 I'd say go for it. The past 2 men i've been involved with, I didn't have immediate sparks over. I liked them, sure, but I didn't feel like i'd necessarily fall for them, and well, I fell for both. Still with the 2nd one but who knows how long, cuz he might not be falling equally, but that's neither here nor there. You gotta take the chance else it might never happen... Good luck, Jennifer
