KillaPetehog Posted May 30, 2006 Posted May 30, 2006 The prince and the path of destiny part 1 of 2 The Prince and the Path to Destiny (This story was inspired by the book “The Little Prince”) A long time ago, there was a little prince. The little prince had a flower, which he had tended to everyday. He cherished this flower, for it was the only flower that he had. It was a flower of beauty and splendor. It was a lovely flower, which resembled rubies and emeralds. The little prince spent his love and devotion to this flower. He watered it, protected it, and watched it grow. The little prince had watched the flower when it was a seed and watched it grow to become a beautiful creature. “How lovely you are” said the little prince. “Aren’t I” the flower answered sweetly. She glimmered of crimson and she bowed her head towards the sun. One day, the little prince saw a white door appear from thin air. “I’ve never seen this door before,” said the little prince. The white door just stood there in mid-air. It was a large white door with a golden knob. “I’ll just take a peek,” said the little prince. He peered into the room and saw four people. The first was a woman. Her name was Beauty. The second was a man named Power. The third was a man named the Gardener. The fourth was an old woman. Her name was Wisdom. The little prince stared at Beauty. She was a goddess with a golden dress and with beautifully painted lips. She looked at him and turned away. She turned and peered into a round mirror, which she held in her hand. The little prince stared at Power. The man stared at him with a look of daring confidence. He smirked. He was dressed in a tuxedo..which shimmered in the light. The little prince stared at The Gardener. The old man was watering some flowers. The flowers he watered were numerous and so beautiful. Hues of ruby, emerald, sapphire, pearl, and gold. The little prince stared at Wisdom. She had gray hair, but she walked with an unexplained dignity. The wrinkles on her face seemed to tell of a hard life…and her wrinkled hands carried a large book. The little prince walked towards Beauty. With one quick look at the boy, she scurried off. She walked away. “You seek to attract Beauty”, claimed Power. “I have what it takes for you to attract a goddess such as her. Walk with me and I will teach you to entrap her. I have the power of ambition, courage, confidence, strength, and respect! Walk with me and I will show you the way to success!” stated Power. “Do not listen to him! Listen to me!” shouted Wisdom. “My child, beauty is not what you need. It is not what you seek! Beauty withers with age. She is not what you need. Look at Beauty! She is a woman of magnificence..but she will fade with time. She is a rose, a thing that withers with time. Walk with me and I will teach you things that will not wither away. I will teach you things that will enrich your life. I will teach you the way to enlightenment. Walk with me and your questions in life will be answered, “ stated Wisdom. “Do not listen to her. Listen to me” murmured the Gardener. “Beauty is like a flower. There are many like her. There are lots of flowers out there that are pretty. I will teach you to find a flower of quality. I will teach you to find a flower of good seed. Don’t neglect a beautiful flower just because it has thorns. But neglect the flower that comes from the bad seed. Walk with me and I will show you where there are other women of Beauty!,” stated The Gardener. “Bah! Don’t listen to this man’s riddles! I know what you want! I can give what you want. You want money! You want wealth! You want riches! You want confidence! I can teach you to become a MAN to get Beauty!,” shouted Power. The little prince walked up to the Gardener. “May I see your flowers? May I see your garden?” The Gardener smiled. “Sure you may, but be careful. I have dedicated my life to tending these plants.” The Gardener handed the little prince a golden key. The little prince opened the gate to the garden. It was a blossoming rose garden. “Good morning!” said the boy. “Good morning,” said the roses. The little prince gazed at the roses. All of them looked like his flower. “Who are you?” he asked, astounded. “We’re roses” the roses said. “Ah!” said the little prince. And he felt very unhappy. His flower had told him that she was the ONLY one of her kind in the whole universe. And there were five thousand of them, all just alike, in one garden. And then he said to himself, “I thought I was rich because I had just one flower, and all I own is an ordinary rose. It doesn’t make me much of a prince. “I’m beginning to understand,” the little prince said. “There’s a flower I have. I think she’s tamed me” “Young boy, I have something to tell you!” shouted Power. The little prince walked to Power. “Boy, I will teach you how to become a MAN. I will teach you to become powerful. I will teach you to destroy all those who stand in your way. Heed my words and you will become a man of Power. Know the FIVE RULES of POWER and you will have the Power to destroy men and conquer nations and attract Beauty. The little prince listened intently. The first rule of Power is confidence! You must have confidence in your abilities. If you believe you can achieve it, you WILL achieve it. Don’t let anybody tell you otherwise! Don’t listen to foolish words of others! Whatever your right hand finds you to do, do with all your might! The second rule of Power is strength! You must improve yourself physically and mentally. You must dedicate your life to self-improvement. Seek for perfection! You will focus your life on becoming stronger. When you grow in strength, others will see your power and fear you! Your body is a house. If you build it on a strong foundation and with strong material, it will not fall. It will STAND. If you have a house built with poor materials, it will FALL. Create a fortress that cannot be destroyed or tampered by others! Empower your body and mind! What use is a castle with nothing in it? The third rule of Power is courage! You must fear nothing! You must become a creature of power. FEAR NOTHING and you can achieve anything! You have only one life to live. Don’t live it as a coward! Be a man of Power! Beauty is attracted to courage. NEVER appear to be afraid of anything. FEAR NOTHING! The fourth rule of Power is AMBITION! You will do your best with the abilities you have. Don’t let anybody tell you who you are or what you can do! You are as powerful as you make yourself to be! Beauty is attracted to AMBITION! The fifth rule of Power is RESPECT. You are a god. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. Don’t let anyone disrespect you! Don’t let anything stand in your way! If someone disrespects you, you destroy them or you leave them! Such is the way of Power! Suddenly a woman walked from the other side. She was of average stature, average beauty, and average looks. “Do you see that woman there?! That woman is not worth your time. She isn’t attractive. You can do better than her! Don’t waste your time with a woman who doesn’t fulfill your needs. Don’t let anything stand in your way. Especially, mediocrity!” stated Power. “Don’t listen to the shallow nature of Power” stated Wisdom “Look beyond her beauty, for you may find a woman with a heart of gold. Beauty isn’t everything. Time takes it toll on all of us. It is an empty life to view a woman on the shell that surrounds her. Never burn bridges! For when you love all women, they WILL lead you to Beauty. Women know other women of Beauty. ” stated Wisdom. The Gardener stammered and stopped watering his plants. “Wisdom is correct and Power is correct, but you should do what you feel is right. If a person tends to an average looking flower, or a flower of average quality, he tends to value it MORE because he spent MORE time on it. It’s the same way with women. When men spend more and more time with an “average” woman, she “seems” to get more and more beautiful with time. You start to overlook her looks because of her “personality”. Don’t fall for this. Don’t waste your time on a flower of weak quality. There are a million flowers out there and you shouldn’t waste your time with this one. Your most important task is to get a flower of quality. Begin with a flower of quality and you will never be deceived,” stated The Gardener. “Young prince, come here so that I may speak with you!,” shouted Wisdom. “How did you know I was prince?” answered the little prince. “I know many things! Come here and I will teach you something,” answered Wisdom. “Young prince, I will teach you the ways of wisdom. First and foremost. Know to learn from yourself. It is much harder to judge yourself than it is to judge others. If you succeed in judging yourself, it’s because you truly are a wise man. Power is right in many ways, but he is a man of vanity. There is much more to life than Power. To vain men, other people are admirers. Vain men never hear anything but praise. Some of the ideas of Power are correct, but he has neglected the most important rule of all. You are still a child. You are still a young prince. There are many men of power who are STILL children. The lion can teach his cub many things, but the cub will not become great unless he himself grows in strength. What is the use of having the advice of gods, kings and wise
KillaPetehog Posted May 30, 2006 Posted May 30, 2006 men, when you yourself have not grown? The best advice of the lion will not teach a cub anything unless the cub grows and becomes a lion. The boy must become a man, and the man must become the prince and the prince must become the king. Heed my words, young prince! Know the difference between intelligence and wisdom. Know the difference between knowledge and experience. The only way you shall learn is through experience. A man who knows everything about women but has no experience is a GEOGRAPHER. He knows the locations of oceans, rivers, cities and nations. But he has NEVER ventured there. HE IS NOT AN EXPLORER! An EXPLORER is a man who has SEEN the oceans, rivers, cities and nations. He is a man who has experience. He has SEEN and EXPLORED the terrain. He does not dedicate his knowledge to books. He has SEEN them. He is a man of wisdom. Such is the way with women. One can know everything there is to know about women, but have no experience. One can be a geographer. One can know the locations of oceans, rivers, cities and nations, but he is not an explorer. He is not a man of wisdom. Do not rely your mind on maps and books. Explore! Intelligence and knowledge is essential in helping you in your DIRECTION. They tell you whether you are on the right path, but they do not REPLACE experience! Wisdom and experience is essential because it is YOUR exploration. You need both wisdom AND intelligence to go to your destination. Also, know the importance of patience. When you are older, people will tell you to marry. People will tell you to marry at 23, 24, 25, 27, 30, etc. Such is the way of foolishness. Be patient, my child. Enjoy your life and enjoy your youth! Why spend so much haste on entering marriage? Enjoy your life first. You only pass through this way once! You won’t have another chance to live as a child again! Live life to the fullest. A woman will not fulfill your life. You must fulfill your own life. Be happy and live your life to the fullest. Don’t get a wife to complete your life, because you shouldn’t look at life this way! Take your time! It would be a curse to enter a marriage in haste. For you risk a terrible separation. Live your life as a youth for you only pass through this way once! Take your time to pick the right woman for you. “Young man, I see that you have a flower at home. A rose which you thought was the only rose in the world”, shouted the Gardener. “How did you know that I have a rose at home?” answered the little prince. “My roses told me! My roses tell me everything! Come here and I will teach you something” answered the Gardener. The little prince wished to stay with Wisdom but the Gardener grabbed his hand. Then the Gardener showed the little prince all the beautiful flowers in his garden. “How does one find a flower of beauty? There are so many beautiful flowers! Isn’t it the biggest dilemma? There are many flowers out there. Which is the most beautiful flower of all?” stated the Gardener. “Look at this flower! Tell me what you see,” stated the Gardener. “The flower is ruined. It is a beautiful flower, but its roots are damaged. It is insecure!” answered the little prince. “Yes, this is the truth! Such is the way with women. When you find a woman with poor roots, she will be unstable and insecure. A woman with poor roots and a poor relationship with her family will not be healthy. A healthy and secure flower has STRONG roots. A healthy and secure flower has HEALTHY roots,” answered the Gardener. “What is the cause of this problem? How did the flower stray from its roots? Why is the flower insecure? Why is the flower ruined?” asked the little prince. “The flower was not given enough attention. When the flower began, its owner did not pay attention to it. He did not give it LOVE and affection. I did not LOVE this flower. I neglected this flower, and as such, this flower is ruined. A beautiful flower without roots is a flower that cannot live normally. It is thrown along the path. A beautiful flower to be trampled by men.” said the Gardener. “What happens when a beautiful flower is cut from her roots?” asked the Gardener. “It will die.” answered the little prince. “Yes. A woman such as this is ALREADY dead! A woman without roots is a woman who will have many emotional problems, a lack of self-respect, a lack of security, a lack of trust, and a higher chance to stray in life. When observing women, observe their roots. Observe her relationship with her father and mother, for these determine how healthy she will be.” said the Gardener. “But what is the most beautiful flower of all?” asked the little prince. “Ah, isn’t this the question that we all search for? There are lots of flowers that are beautiful. But when you pick a certain flower, you water it, you take care of it, and you put it in a special place. You watch it grow. It’s yours. That time and care you put into that flower makes it more special than all the other flowers out there. The problem is, there are other flowers out there. So it really comes down to one question that you need to ask yourself. Is this the best flower that you can get? Someday, you may find that girl who is more special than all the girls out there. If you honestly think in your heart that the girl you have is the best for you, then stay with it. You know more than anybody out there who’s the right one for you. Who cares what other people say! If you think that she is the one for you and you did your best, then she’s the right one for you. The appreciation of beauty should be in YOUR eyes, not theirs. Don’t listen to others. What I believe is the MOST beautiful flower may not be so to you. But does that matter to me? No. For it is through MY eyes, that I see this beauty. However, don’t fall into a trap. If a person tends to an average looking flower, or a flower of average quality, he tends to value it more because he spent more time on it. Do not do this! Go for a flower of quality in the beginning. You go for what YOU know is the best. Don’t waste your time on a flower of weak quality. You’re better than that. There are a million flowers out there, and you shouldn’t waste your time with one. The best flowers are not found in soiled areas. The best flowers are not found in dumpsters. Look in places of beauty to find beautiful flowers. Beautiful flowers are usually found in beautiful areas. “You speak the truth, Gardener. I have a rose at home. She told me that she was the only one of her kind in the whole universe. But I now know she lies. There were five thousand of them, all just alike, in your garden.” said the little prince. “Gardener, what is your true name? What is your true nature? Are you really just the Gardener?” asked the little prince. “I have Loved all of these flowers. I have Loved all people. I understand the importance of Love. I know that Love can be like a rose. It begins anew and with time, it can fade away. I have attracted Beauty through Love. Power can buy gardens of roses and buy a gardener to tend to his roses, and have the most beautiful flowers in the world. But Power does not Love his flowers. He uses his Power and wealth to tend to these flowers. It is NOT the same as caring and Loving a flower yourself. Power’s relationship with his flowers are empty, for he has used money to purchase them. You can attract Beauty with Power. But the flowers that he attracts are different from the ones that I attract. The women that Power attracts are different from that which can be obtained through Love. I am the Gardener.” answered the Gardener. “Walk with me and I will show you the way to Beauty. For Beauty is lured by Love” said the Gardener. “I am so confused! I do not know who I should walk with” answered the little prince. “Go home and ponder it. Think of what you shall do. Then return when you have made your mind” answered the Gardener. The little prince went home and he saw his rose. For the first time in his life, he began to see that this rose was not the special flower that he thought it was. For the first time in his life, he began to see that this rose was not as beautiful as he thought it was. For the first time in his life, he began to see that there were other flowers that he could obtain. The prince pondered and pondered. Then he thought of the people that he met. What path should I take? Should I side with Power? Should I side with Wisdom? Should I side with the Gardener? Each had such noble talents. The methods of Power were luring. Such dominance, confidence, power, ambition, and strength would surely give me the tools to become a powerful king. The methods of Wisdom were so strange and insightful. Such wisdom and intelligence would surely give me the tools to become a wise and just king. The methods of the Gardener were so unique. He seemed to have a knowledge of people, relationships, and Love. The Gardener let me understand that there were many other flowers to be had. The prince didn’t know what to do. He was confused and didn’t know what to do. But the little prince did not want this opportunity to fly by. He ran up to the white door and chose his destiny…….. The End
Spank'n'Rationality Posted May 31, 2006 Posted May 31, 2006 What the hell! I read that whole story, and it just ends? Which does he choose? That is messed up! How is that story at all like the original poster's? At least that story had an ending... Come on, don't leave me hanging! If there is no ending, lie to me and tell me which he chooses! I want to say Wisdom, but being that this is supposed to be the "male" version, I would say Power.

Real men don't want a slave that will tend to their every need or be a "Mommy" to them as is insinuated in the story. That would be the same as me making a cute little anecdote comparing women to monkeys - never letting go of one branch until they get their hand on the next. It's demeaning and innappropriate. You can't paint all people with the same brush.
