Author bab Posted June 6, 2006 Author Posted June 6, 2006 We got back last night. I don't think I've ever been that lazy in my entire life. It was awesome. Pina coladas and beach time. We didn't make it Senor Frogs. We had planned to go there, but lets just say the latest we ever made it back to the hotel room was 10:00pm. The wedding was great. I think everything went off without a hitch. My Mamaw (my grandmother for all you non-southerners) said she wasn't going to come, but she was there. My whole family knew she was coming, including my husband, but they didn't tell me. They even arranged to get her flowers and get walked in. I didn't see her until I was all the way down the ailse! Hugging her afterwards was the only time I cried. Sneaky old lady. My brother was also there which was very special to me since he is flat broke and I haven't seen him in 2 years. His stupid ex-wife wouldn't let him bring my nieces though. I'll send them pictures. My husband was super hot in his tux. Both literally and figuratively. I never seen such a handsom sweaty man!!!! I am so happy to have such a wonderful husband!! :love: Then on to BBQ with all the southern style fixin's. We had lots of northerns there as my husband is originally from Michigan and my Dad is originally from Ohio. We got lots of, "I really like southern food!!" comments from the Yankees. Mmmmm....making me hungry just thinking about it. And red velvet cake. We had the "caterer" (translate BBQ guy) cut the cake. Wow. He butchered it all to hell. He had no idea how to cut a tiered round cake. It was hilarious. I hope someone took a picture of it. And we had a swing dance lesson that everyone seemed to love. I am so happy. So far married life has been great. (Okay, we literally just got back from the honeymoon, so I don'thave much to complain about yet!) I haven't been able to call my in-laws mom and dad yet. The keep calling me daughter and I laugh in response. Somehow that part is freaking me out a bit. Apparently my father-in-law cries every time my mil brings up the wedding, which is very cute because my fil is the huge machismo kinda guy. I guess there was a bit of drama. The Wednesday before the wedding my mother went into the hospital for a kidney stone. She had surgery and got out on Thursday. Unfortunately since she was out of state, her insurance only pays 1/2, so that was stressing her out. Plus she didn't get as much rest as she probably needed since the apartment I rented her was wedding central. But she was a trooper and she didn't let on that she was uncomfortable at all by Sunday. I guess every wedding has some meltdown, so Mom "took one for the team" on this one!
