luvtoto Posted May 23, 2006 Posted May 23, 2006 Um...I found out that my new guy used to date a stripper. He said it was a rebound after his divorce. Oh man. He lives in a state were strip clubs are legal. He only had good things to say about her. I mean, he didn't trash her to me. Which I thought was a good sign. But, part of me...well, you know. Would that turn you off? I feel a little intimidated now. Am I being too general here with my assumptions?
tinktronik Posted May 23, 2006 Posted May 23, 2006 Yes , you are being too general. Who is she ? Is she just the stripper girl ? What are her hobbies ? She's a person just like any other.... A job dosn't define a person. Would you be grossed out if your s/o used to date a polotician or someone who worked in the oil industry?
allina Posted May 23, 2006 Posted May 23, 2006 I don't think it should be an issue. Don't feel intimidated by a stripper, I'm sure you have a ton more going on for you. It's sweet of him not to bad mouth the girl, you never know, she could have been a quality chick that just fell on some hard times.

I've read your posts, Tink. You used to be a stripper? That's cool. To be completely honest, I am actually JEALOUS and intimidated by this stripper-X lady of his. I mean, her *job* is to turn on guys for a living. Is it not?! Takes a woman who is really secure in her sexuality. Right? How can I compare to that? Am I making general statements again? I apologize if I am.
Vertex Posted May 24, 2006 Posted May 24, 2006 How are you able to find new people so quickly? I want this skill, haha. As for the past, I mean, it shouldn't be a big deal. Everyone has their differences -- as long as it isn't doing anything negative, don't worry too much about it, especially since past is past. He sounds like a nice guy at least for not badmouthing her... usually it's easy to badmouth the people in the past if we feel wronged.
tinktronik Posted May 24, 2006 Posted May 24, 2006 Hehe. I'm in the oil industry. HMMMM , so is my aunt in houston. Thinking .
Author luvtoto Posted May 24, 2006 Author Posted May 24, 2006 Just a confession here... I have always always fantasized about being a stripper...but, have never had the guts...and now I'm pushing 40. Now, I kinda feel like this other stripper chic is better than me. Is that crazy? I have never been the jealous type. So what the hell???

I've had a FWB other than this new guy, but that's it.

I apologize if I am.At the beginning it takes a lot of courage and then it just becomes natural , a job , going to work just like any other . You simply try not to show too much boredom , and think up new things to talk about. After the first little bit you make great money , I'm sorry but $1000+ a day all dependent on everything you can think to keep a guys eyes off the other girls i the room and his mind focused on you and his hands off , it becomes completely worth it and a total headache . But think about it , If I told you , I'll give you a 1K for 5 hours of work , just be nice friendly , don't break any laws , and keep X persons eyes on you ,you could definitly do it . Now , I only keep my so's mind entertained , and he's not paying me 1K a day , so no I don't work nearly as hard at it.
catgirl1927 Posted May 24, 2006 Posted May 24, 2006 I know how you feel. I bought the whole set of Carmen Electra strip aerobics DVDs so I could learn how to be sexy. Tried to do the first one, I was either giggling or crying the whole time.

This is totally common and the reason I do as well as I do and get to make a living at it , while loving it.
MadDog Posted May 24, 2006 Posted May 24, 2006 Wouldn't it make more sense to be intimidated by a woman he was really in love with and had a long, fulfilling relationship with than some woman who was a fling/rebound?
tanbark813 Posted May 24, 2006 Posted May 24, 2006 Well do you know which strip club she danced at? It could have been one of the dive ones where all the strippers are pudgy and missing teeth.

He called me last Friday night, and told me he was at a strip club. I almost got turned on by that. I am so utterly intrigued. Then, he makes statements like, "you need to just loosen up...let your hair down." What if I can't do that? OR what if I don't know how? OR if I do loosen up...what if I get myself into some trouble.
Author luvtoto Posted May 24, 2006 Author Posted May 24, 2006 Take tink's class. Seriously. What class? Did I miss that post?
Vertex Posted May 24, 2006 Posted May 24, 2006 luvtoto: Oh! My mistake, sorry :X It sounds like it might be fun to loosen up and go with the flow for now... sounds very adventurous tik: Have you ever read Sex, Drugs, and Economics? There is a very convincing argument in there as to why stripping is actually quite a lucrative profession. You make pretty good money, and as long as you aren't doing anything illegal you can have some pretty nice side-effects in a serious love life

It is in the past and she is his ex for a reason, he doesn't talk to her anymore, and from what you have posted, he has been going out of his way to romance you. Why be intimidated? What competition do you have? None. This guy likes you and you only.

I called him tonight...and we had a nice talk. Not about strippers or anything. I save that kinda talk for LS!
SuperMonk Posted May 24, 2006 Posted May 24, 2006 They are f*cked up in the head, seriously. They're like psychos/drama queens/and b*tches mixed in one. After that, I became more powerful after learning the women jedi ways, I am now a Sithlord able to crush 5 Jedis (or Women) all at once.

Oh, excuse me...the Sithlord of generalizations.
kitkat826 Posted May 24, 2006 Posted May 24, 2006 Luvtoto - If he wanted to be with a stripper now, he'd be with one. I've been with all types of people in the past that I wouldn't be caught dead with now. I think the stripper girl hits a sensitive spot with you because of your own curiosity/insecurities. If YOU would like to explore it, then go ahead. But don't do it so you can "live up" to her or anyone else. BTW - "toto" in Spanish means "pu**y". Just thought you should know.
