I was happily engaged and planning our wedding until i found out that my fiancee is married. He is in the military and only got married (last year) so that he can move off base and receive extra money for being married. He never had a relationship w/this girl, but I'm hurt. I only found out because i found a receipt from a lawyer. (He's been trying to get a divorce for a couple of months now...they haven't been able to locate his wife) I wanted to leave him, but everthing else about him is perfect. Am I over reacting?? He says that he wasn't really married...it was just a piece of paper. Ha!

On top of this he's been lying to me about talking to his x-g/f. I would've been ok with him talking to her on the phone, but he was initially lying and telling me it was her mother that he was talking to. I don't know how to move one knowing the truth...

If he's lying to you about important things like his marriage, he's certainly ok with lying. It's not likely you'll be able to trust him after you get married.

hotpink707,

Your whole post spells out R-E-D F-L-A-G. I think you should proceed with caution. These are major issues he's lying about. You've got thinking to do. Either way, Good luck.
