having problems with gf and family!!!!

so my gf is 20 and i am 21 we have been together for almost a year now. So i am at her parents house last weekend and my gf's lil sis just got a brand new vespa. Her sis was insisting that i try it out and ride it so i obliged and midway down the GRAVEL road i layed the vespa down!!!!! since then the father has been very rude in phone conversaiton regarding getting this vespa fixed and he recieved a quote for 1400 dollars to fix it. I explained that as a 21 yr old i cant just pay that amount flat out but could do payments and at first he said i needed to find a way to pay it all up front but then obliged and agreed to a payment plan. In the midst of this mess my gf has told me repeatedly that she does not want to be in the middle of this and anytime i bring it up she gets furious and yells and tonight after i got back form the er because i had a very serious fever she laid into me again saying that her father is a prick and that i need to deal with it because its just something we deal with in life. i told her that it is uncomfortable to be around someone who is so rude to me and she said that i need to stop being such a baby and suck it up. My question is very broad in the sense that im just looking for someone to analyze this situation and help me have a clear mind about what is going on. I love my gf to death but if this is how i can expect her to act when things get bad then maybe im with the worng girl. Or maybe im just overreacting. please help me out:(
