Brittanyjean06 Posted May 20, 2006 Posted May 20, 2006 I am 18 years old 5" 3 with 36 d boobs, They ache my back...and are just way too big for my body! Within a year I will be having a boob reduction, anyone on here have had one? how was the pain when waking up from surgery?
tinktronik Posted May 20, 2006 Posted May 20, 2006 My cousin whos 5 foot 100 lbs had double d's shes had them reduced .She says that the pain was not too bad at all .She has medium C's now , and is much happier .Before she looked heavy but now you can tell she's not at all , she looks great.
Craig Posted May 21, 2006 Posted May 21, 2006 I had a friend in college that did the boob reduction thing. It changed her life and was the best thing she ever did for herself. I don't know about the pain thing but she was very happy with the results.

Within a year I will be having a boob reduction, anyone on here have had one? how was the pain when waking up from surgery? I thought women with large breasts are the lucky ones? A lot of women seem to see only the narrow view of breast enhancement. It's sad. I don't know anyone who has done it. Hope the results turn out good.

Within a year I will be having a boob reduction, anyone on here have had one? how was the pain when waking up from surgery? I wish you the best and a quick recovery when the time comes. I had a ex that had your size. She was happy and unhappy at the same time. They do cause back aches, premature aging (somewhat pulls facial skin down as they sag), and may cause posture issues. Longterm wise even some sleep issues.
RecordProducer Posted May 21, 2006 Posted May 21, 2006 I think you are too young to do it, honey. You might regret it some day. Please wait until you're more mature to make this decision. You have a long time since they get saggy. Don't be bothered by the men who stare at them. They stare at long legs and nicely shaped butts too! Would you change that too? I don't believe that back pain has anything to do with the size of your tits. Are you aware that the tits are fat and fat is very light? Have you actually measured your boobs? I think doctors have created a myth just to get your money and make you reduce your boobs. Measure your breasts and then think of how much you would reduce. Then hold that weight in your hand and see how "heavy" it is. The pain in the back is due to a bad posture because you've been ashamed of your boobs since teenage! And I don't believe that the pain is the reason. The reasons are always emotional. Please wait a few more years! At age 25 you'll probably be proud of your big boobs. Any boobs are wonderful. Any size. Very small or very big. If they really make you unhappy, if they are saggy, reduce them later, but you're practically still a kid!

They do contribute to back pain very much so. The more weight you have to carry around, the more painful it is. Your upper back bears the brunt of it. Trust me, I carry around 42DD's.. it's painful.
bendit Posted May 21, 2006 Posted May 21, 2006 I would be very very cautious about going in and cosmetically altering your body surgically. Get the facts on the back problem. Also see if it might be a "head" problem. Maybe you think there is something about you physically that is not good enough. I don't know the answer. Please do some more research on this Hon and make sure its the right thing to do for you. regards
kitten chick Posted May 21, 2006 Posted May 21, 2006 I'm exactly the same as you Brittany, 5'3" 36 D. I've always wanted a reduction. I feel that I'm on the borderline of needing one and not. It definitely hurts my back and it has nothing to do with being embarassed about them when I was younger. I was never embarassed by them. Sometimes when the pain is particularly bothersome I will hold them up for a few minutes to take some of the pressure off and it usually helps for a while. I also do weight training to strengthen my back muscles which helps. I have a friend who had a reduction and she loved it. She said it was one of the best things she's done. She did have discomfort after surger and recovery time but in the end it was worth it. They should be able to give you pain killers for a while after surgery.
Author Brittanyjean06 Posted May 21, 2006 Author Posted May 21, 2006 I won't be getting it done until probaly a year or so! but no they really are too big for my body, and I don't feel comfortable in them, I can lift them up and I am amazed how much weight it actually takes off of me! I think I will be happier, I will reduce down to a c, but when I get it done I'll tell you the results! Till than I got these big babies! I am proud of them . People say" some girls would die to have your boobs" well I don't feel that way sometimes, It's hard to run and they jiggle every where. lol I would just feel more comfortable with them reduced a little bit!
RecordProducer Posted May 31, 2006 Posted May 31, 2006 I very much disagree. Do you have big boobs? They do contribute to back pain very much so. The more weight you have to carry around, the more painful it is. Your upper back bears the brunt of it. Trust me, I carry around 42DD's.. it's painful.I would rather exercise my back to relieve the pain than reduce my boobs because of that. How do you know that the pain is not from bad posture? Have you had a perfectly straight posture since your breasts started growing? What about people who carry 20 extra lbs in their bellies? Your breasts are made of spongy fat and fat is very light. You probably carry no more than 1 lb in your tits. If you'd have them reduced, they still wouldn't be cut off, god forbid. The weight reduction would be minimal. I've gone through the stage of not wanting to be seen as a sexual object too. I started acting anti-sexual and dressing modestly because I felt cheap and even blamed my temporarily blond hair for all the attention from guys that I didn't need. But no matter what I changed about myself, I realized that guys will always see women as sexual objects and it wasn't my fault. I am afraid that she will find that men won't see her differently once she has smaller boobs. Sex appeal comes from the inside, not from the size of your bra. If you don't want the attention - wear baggy clothes, glasses, cut your hair, and don't put any make-up. Observe a sexy, good-looking, small-boobed woman walking down the street - you'll notice that all guys stare at her. She also gets the sexual-object treatment although she doesn't have much to put in her bra.
erika2610 Posted May 31, 2006 Posted May 31, 2006 Where does sexual object come into play here? I read nothing about that. I read that she has back pain.. which yes, is one of the problems with having big boobs. I didn't think so either, until I had them. Google it.. you'll find other women with this problem too. Alot of it is upper back pain, and shoulder pain, where the bra has that much more to support.. I've also read of neck pain also..
norajane Posted May 31, 2006 Posted May 31, 2006 Do some research so you can find a good Board Certified plastic surgeon who has done many breast reductions. Also, do some research on the different options for reductions. I think some surgical methods cut around your nipple and may affect nipple sensitivity in the future, but other methods don't require making the incision around the nipple. In any case, check it out so you are informed when you speak to the doctor about your options. Otherwise, good for you for taking control of a health issue, even though it's scary. I always kinda wanted a reduction even though I'm 5'6" and 34c (34d according to Victoria's Secret, which wants to inflate their customers' egos, I think ). I've always had upper back/shoulder pain, especially if I've been on my feet all day. I like to jog and play tennis - I need to tie my boobs down in two sports bras just to avoid the bouncy pain. And ever tried to smoosh big boobs into a scuba suit???

Cup sizes went from C to D, sizes 36 to 34's, or dress sizes from 6 to 4. VS is not the only brand to be doing the size changing.

Sorry, this is complete misinformation. It's funny that this is the first thread that I'm coming back to reading. I've been laid up in bed for a while, this is my third day, because off back problems. I've been to the chiropractor every day and the rest of the time been in bed packing my back in ice. The chiropractor told me that every time you throw your back out it gets progressively worse. My back is in major spasm and my joints are inflamed. I have your same exact measurements Brittanyjean, height and chest. If your chest is causing you pain and it's something you want to do then go ahead and do it. I know a few people now that have had it done and they all feel so much better, a lot less pain, they're more confident in their looks, etc. They all said that recovery was painful but that goes away after some time. Do what you think is best for you and make sure you have facts from a doctor before you have it done and take the time to interview doctors and their patients to make sure you have who you think is the best.
quankanne Posted June 1, 2006 Posted June 1, 2006 Brittany, do a webcrawl for breast reduction sites, there's a really good one whose name I cannot think of, which gives an idea of what to expect, what to ask, etc. And it has a forum for women who are about to get or have gotten BRs. At this point, my only concern is your age – talk with your gynecologist and your regular physician for recommended plastic surgeons so they can 1. make notation of your discomfort/problems and 2. refer you. Both of those things will be needed when approaching the insurance company for permission to have this done. Anyhow, when you talk with these doctors, find out what age range they consider good for a reduction – I've read that some plastic surgeons will not operate on young women in their late teens because they're concerned about the body still undergoing growth stages. But ask to be sure; even if you have to wait a bit longer than you like, a reduction is your best option if you're already having problems, because unless that weight is removed, those problems are not going to correct themselves. RP, with all due respect, you have no idea what havoc large breasts can wreak on your body. There are back problems, there are neck problems, there are rashes and infections from moisture trapped under or between your breasts, there are issues with being able to comfortably exercise because the your breasts are too large and they either slap or bounce, causing problems. And if bone density problems run in your family, there's also the joy of facing old age with a curved spine and humongous ta-tas. yes, there is the emotional issue: you feel abnormal when you've got huge breasts, that every eye is automatically drawn to your large bust, and even finding bras and clothes are torture, because the stuff that fits better is often more expensive – it takes a lot of purchases to find the "right" bra, so your out good money if it doesn't hoist them well. The next time you're in the produce section of a grocery store, grab a couple of canteloupes and try them on for size. That's what it feels like – lugging around a couple of 3-4 pound canteloupes on your frame each and every day, whether you're fat or slim, it still hurts after awhile. So please, RP, don't take this child's situation lightly. Big boobs are a bitch to live with, and she's on the starting out end of it!

I hope you heal quickly this time ... or at least have some good drugs to help with the worst of the pain!
quankanne Posted June 1, 2006 Posted June 1, 2006 Brittany – can you receive PM's on this site? If so, let me know so that when I get home from work, I can get you those links (unfortunately, I didn't have them saved on the work computer like I thought I did). quank
Author Brittanyjean06 Posted June 1, 2006 Author Posted June 1, 2006 Thanks for being concerned and support everyone! Pms? I do sometimes feel uncomfortable with them, they are like my trade mark and everyone knows me as the girl with big Knockers! I googled images of breast redutions, not really a pretty site but I am willing to go for it maybe later on in life, I don't think I will be getting a reduction any time soon, if so it would be in a year!
erika2610 Posted June 2, 2006 Posted June 2, 2006 I read between the lines, Erika! Alrighty then You can read what you want into it, but the fact of the matter is big boobs contribute to back pain, shoulder pain, and neck pain. Why do you keep saying otherwise?

RecordProducer Posted June 2, 2006 Posted June 2, 2006 OK, I'll believe you about the pain, although I have like 36D (I think that would be my American size - they're pretty big) and I haven't had any back problems. I had pain in my back when I was studying cuz I had a very bad posture while sitting, but since I graduated - no back pain anymore. I relate back pain to sitting rather than standing or walking, but it's just my experience so I'll take your experiences as equally valid. Brittany, just keep in mind that boob reduction leaves scars and all your future partners will see them, since you're young and not yet married. If you're OK with that then cool, but don't regret it later and feel bad that you have to explain to every BF where the scars come from. I am not saying it's embarassing, it really depends on you. Some women are moe reserved than others about their bodies. I am totally PRO changing your body if you think that some part of it is ugly (nose, lips, belly...). But I don't think your breasts are ugly, I think you just have a hard time accepting yourself as a woman with big breasts. I think it's this teenage mentality - you want to fit in. But once you're older, you start appreciating the differences between you and the majority. When I was a teenager, I wanted to be superficial and happy and extrovert like most of the kids. As I was growing more mature, I realized that I had features that made me feel unique. With time you start loving yourself for who you are. I actually think that most of the back pain is due to your refusal to accept your big breasts - it's subconscious auto-suggestion, rejection of your body that results in physical pain. Objectively, no matter how big they are, your breats are NOT too heavy for your body to carry them. I think it's all in your head. Being rejected by the society because you look over-sexual is hard, but being rejected by yourself is even harder. What I am suggesting is just to wait with this decision until you become a woman. You're still a girl. I've been told by some scum-bag once: "I thought you're a slut cuz you have big tits!" Check that! It hurts and creates resentment toward the society if you're mature enough. But if you're very young - it creates resentment toward your own body.
