luvtoto Posted May 18, 2006 Posted May 18, 2006 I've met the most awesome guy in my online dating site. I am just taken by this guy and very happy. Never felt so normal around anyone else before. Maybe, for once, I am putting the real me out there. He is open and is straight forward about what he is looking for in a relationship. It is VERY refreshing to have a man that doesn't play games. Especially, after wasting the last four years chasing after a couple of comittment-phobic men. LS helped me to realize the mistakes I was making, and the possible regrets I might end up with in my life. Also, helped me realize that I am OK just the way I am. I'm moving on, and going after what it is I really want, and have never felt more alive. My kids are happy to finally see me dating someone other than 'Mr. On-again, Off again'. I just wanted to thank everyone here at LS. You guys are one great group of people! A special thanks to littlekitty. Her online dating thread motivated me to get myself OUT THERE!! Don't know if this new guy will work out, but we are definitely gonna have some fun finding out.
Author luvtoto Posted May 18, 2006 Author Posted May 18, 2006 Congratulations. Hope hes a goodun Thanks JohnM. I hope so, too. Most of his sentences begin with, "Well, if things work out between us, how do you feel about...?" He's about as excited as I am. Usually, when first meeting someone, I am shy and reserved. But, no need to be that way with him, because he so open. He's already asked me to be exclusive with him. Here's the kicker...he's only 26. I'm robbing the craddle. What can I say? He likes older woman.
prfrogkisser Posted May 18, 2006 Posted May 18, 2006 Good Luck girl Wishing you the best. I have to ask which dating site worked for you and can you send me to link to little kittys guide? Thanks
Author luvtoto Posted May 18, 2006 Author Posted May 18, 2006 Good Luck girl Wishing you the best. I have to ask which dating site worked for you and can you send me to link to little kittys guide? Thanks Sure! No problem. At first, I didn't think it [online dating] would work, but like I said, I took her profile-set-up advice and things went really good. http://www.loveshack.org/forums/t81698/ Can you get PM's, frogkisser?
Author luvtoto Posted May 18, 2006 Author Posted May 18, 2006 Haha, lucky you. You the sugar momma then? Haha Yea, lucky me. He has a good job, and he has more money than I do, by far! He's been married, screwed over and divorced already. He's looking for a more stable woman. Someone who knows what she wants in life. And I want him! I guess, you could say I know what I want! He, also, has two adorable children, too. Our age difference isn't that noticeable. He is mature for his age, and I act young for mine. Kind of evens out.

Thanks for the link. Ive been on a few dating sites and so far nothing special has happened. Maybe i might get a few pointers from the link. Pm's? Good question I have no idea
Author luvtoto Posted May 18, 2006 Author Posted May 18, 2006 Thanks for the link. Ive been on a few dating sites and so far nothing special has happened. Maybe i might get a few pointers from the link. Pm's? Good question I have no idea I know what you mean, frogkisser. Just a week ago, I posted about how annoying online dating can be. But, I'm eating my words now! I checked, and you don't have the PM option yet. Just read littekitty's advice, and it will be sure to motivate you. She advised to change your profile daily...just small changes, so your profile will always be at the top of the heap. I did that, and it made a difference, among other things I would have never thought of.

I guess that this means the end of our pot roast get togethers.

Wow, that sounds like my husband and I after three dates! It probably seemed to everyone we were moving too fast, but yet the pace seemed always right to us. How far is he away from you??
Alexandra Posted May 19, 2006 Posted May 19, 2006 I know what you mean, frogkisser. Just a week ago, I posted about how annoying online dating can be. But, I'm eating my words now! I checked, and you don't have the PM option yet. Congrats!!! Really excited for you, don't do an "I've outgrown my need for LS" act and not keep us posted please. Just to keep to the obsessive me... YOU DO NOT HAVE THE OPTION YET?!? I quit! you've been here for half a year and have 2000 posts and don't have it?!? Tell me that's not so or I'm giving up hope and deleting my membership today!
Author luvtoto Posted May 19, 2006 Author Posted May 19, 2006 Well, I must say congratulations to you Luvtoto. I am glad that we were able to help you. I guess that this means the end of our pot roast get togethers. Thanks Riddler! LS was a lifesaver for me. If I didn't get a few b*tch slaps from you guys, I would still be chasing after that other guy. I just feel great! Nope...nothing is ending, not even pot roasts! Everything's so damn crazy right now, and will get into a normal routine soon. Gotta know how to juggle it all together.

You and your husband hit if off right out the gate? I keep thinking, and we discuss this all the time together, that we *just* met. How can we feel this comfortable around each other already? It's like we've known each other for a long time already. It's really strange.

Gotta do all my housework and laundry during the week, so we can spend the weekends together. It's quite a juggling act. I'll still be around..... Oh by the way, he lives an hour and a half away from me.

I keep thinking, and we discuss this all the time together, that we *just* met. How can we feel this comfortable around each other already? It's like we've known each other for a long time already. It's really strange. Yeah, it was really strange. We just felt exactly the same way about everything. We're both Scorpios and I read on Yahoo horoscopes (I don't really believe that much in that stuff) about how a relationship between two Scorpios would either be the best or the worst relationship you'd ever had. We talk about it all the time. We were instantly comfortable with each other-no game playing, no awkward stuff. Amazing. We were in his kitchen one time making dinner. He's the cook of the family. He's chopping and cooking and I'm moving around in the kitchen cleaning up dishes as he goes and it was almost like we were one person with four arms. That sounds wierd but it was like I instinctively knew what his next move would be. My H went to marriage counseling on his own after his marriage ended (she left him for another woman) so he was emotionally ready for the right relationship. He wasn't angry about what she'd done anymore, etc. He was as into talking about the relationship as I was, which is way wierd-but I LOVE IT!
Author luvtoto Posted May 19, 2006 Author Posted May 19, 2006 Well, it still will not be the same. I now have to share you. I am still happy for you. Dude! Quit being such a downer! Technically, I've had to share you with many a LS'er, too! What comes around....

I can relate to the "no game playing, no awkward stuff" statement. It's just weird. We talk about it alot. I've never been so comfortable around someone before in any relationship. He agrees. I guess when it's right, it's right. Yea, I guess your husband was ready for the right relationship after that. My guy has made the comment that he's ready also. Cool. Thank God I was in the right place at the right time! OR was it luck? Hmmm....maybe fate.

I knew I knew something about it! I really hope it all goes well for you honey! Just brilliant! Awww it feels like my first success story!! Yes, LK, I really appreciated your advice; it gave me confidence and motivated me. I listed in my profile, *exactly* what it was that I wanted...and that's what I got! Didn't get many replies at first, because my profile was so too-the-point. I am sure it turned off the players. Anyways, put up plenty of pics and used your other helpful hints. I don't think I would have ever re-joined another dating site if I didn't get a new outlook on it. I don't think I would have ever even thought about letting myself get out there in the dating scene, if it wasn't for everyone's help here! Thanks again!
