Mistaken Identity Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 He will be here for about a week, staying at my house. Only our five year-old knows because my oldest daughter and my mother (who lives across the street) are going to freak out about it. Although my husband never did anything to either of them, he has been lazy (unemployed) and noncommunicative (ran off without warning a few times). He has also drank more than I wanted him to. After a five-month separation, he says he realizes how selfish and irresponsible he's been and that he would jump at the chance to get back together. I should add that this was our second separation (the first time was because I was having an emotional affair with another man). I've filed for divorce and my court date is coming up soon. I feel like this visit could make or break the marriage. I just don't trust my judgment when it comes to him. How do you know if a man has really changed? I mean, he can't prove it in a week. Doesn't it take about three weeks for a person to revert back to their old behavior? I'm so confused. Any advice would be appreciated.
