azurica Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 I found this site a few days ago, and reading all the posts have really made me feel better, so I thought you guys might be able to help me out. I ended a long-term, but emotionally distant relationship a few months ago. As far as breakups go, it was pretty manageable- it had been a looong time coming. Later that same week, I ran into a friend of a friend with whom I'd had quite a connection about six months earlier (but we'd both been involved with other people) and immediately started dating. The timing was totally weird because he was in the same situation, end of a LTR with someone who hadn't been there for him. As corny as it sounds, I knew it was right from the first minute our hands touched- and I am not that type of person- and so did he. We fell in love really fast, and everything moved at lightspeed after that. I was still a little hesitant, because usually when something is too good to be true. . . but he totally set the pace: he dropped the l-bomb first, hinted at our future together, all but said I was the love of his life. He met my friends and family (all of whom thought he was amazing and "it" for me) and everything was pretty much awesome, though incredibly frightening too (talk about a leap of faith!)
