I have a new profile on Match that has been viewed hundreds of times but only a few women show up in "Who’s viewed you".

What does that mean? Is this part of some elaborate courtship ritual?

Those are people that are not logged in or don't have an account and are just surfing Match

The who's viewed you only works if they have an account.. and new profiles also show up on Matches new profile list.. after 5 days your views will go down as it is no longer new and people will already have viewed it once ..

A lot of people log out before viewing a profile so that they don't get put on the "who's viewed you" list. I know. I'm guilty of it.

I was really looking for some female psychology, why do some choose to reveal themselves whereas most don't? Does it mean that they're interested?

Viewing a profile does not mean you're interested. It means you clicked on someone on the search list and looked at their pictures and profiles, decided you weren't attracted to them or didn't like what they had to say, and then went back to the search list and clicked on the next guy whose profile you want to look at.

It's that simple. Stop reading into it so much.

Edited to add - not everyone logs out to view a profile, which usually doesn't work anyway, jen jen. If your computer is logging cookies, then Match will automically recognize you whether you're logged in or not. I don't sign out because I don't care who sees me viewing their profile.

I used to get emails from men saying something like "I saw you viewed my profile, why didn't you contact me? Did you not like what you saw?" I would be like damn man, get a hint you know? Just cuz you look at someone walking down the mall doesn't mean you want to jump in bed w/them. It's just being curious.

I have my profile up in a few of these stupid things... Now with this current dating thing going on... I think I'm done with online dating for a long time...I like the people that view your profile send you a message about, "hey how are you? Can we hook up? "

Sometimes I'll message a woman and she won't reply but she keeps checking me out because her profile keeps coming up to the top. Would you say she's interested but terribly shy or too insecure to respond? There's a cutie in another state about which I'm curious enough to fly there, she keeps checking me out but won't write. Then there's all the local grannies looking for a much younger man, they keep winking and coming up to the top, even though my profile clearly states that I'm dating women in their mid-30s.

I never send winks, and never respond to them. I don't read profiles either, they're all bulls***. I only send 1-liner messages, almost randomly. There's not much to go by, small photos and some blurb, NOT enough for me to be "interested" or "attracted" to anyone. There are thousands of women doing nothing but waiting to be wooed and I don't have the time to write love-letters, especially since too many aren't members or just don't respond.

Well, there are alot of shy woman that will not make the first move at all. So, if you think you want to get to know one of them just send one of your One Liners to them. See if they respond.

I'm a very shy one, I will not come out and just start talking to a guy, but one day I just did and now it landed me where I am at today. confused and disguisted kinda... haha.

I don't respond to one-liners or canned emails that are obviously sent to any random woman....no matter how attractive the guy is.
