taurus5 Posted May 7, 2006 Posted May 7, 2006 I have this problem and I really can't explain why I feel this way but I would llike to have a girl that would be just a friend but it seems that every girl I meet I think that this could be a possible relationship and then get infatuated feelings but it never seems to go any further as a friendship relationship but I just want to have feelings for a girl that are the same as the feelings you have when you are with your buddies any suggestions
Yamaha Posted May 7, 2006 Posted May 7, 2006 Find a girl whose personality you click with but you have no attraction for. Someone you admire and like but you just don't feel romantic towards.
visotech Posted May 7, 2006 Posted May 7, 2006 For some men its true, they base all female friendships on both personality and attractivness, thus there is always an element of "wanting her"...Ever seen the movie When Harry Met Sally: Harry: You realize of course that we could never be friends. Sally: Why not? Harry: What I'm saying is - and this is not a come-on in any way, shape or form - is that men and women can't be friends because the sex part always gets in the way. Sally: That's not true. I have a number of men friends and there is no sex involved. Harry: No you don't. Sally: Yes I do. Harry: No you don't. Sally: Yes I do. Harry: You only think you do. Sally: You say I'm having sex with these men without my knowledge? Harry: No, what I'm saying is they all WANT to have sex with you. Sally: They do not. Harry: Do too. Sally: They do not. Harry: Do too. Sally: How do you know? Harry: Because no man can be friends with a woman that he finds attractive. He always wants to have sex with her. Sally: So, you're saying that a man can be friends with a woman he finds unattractive? Harry: No. You pretty much want to nail 'em too. Sally: What if THEY don't want to have sex with YOU? Harry: Doesn't matter because the sex thing is already out there so the friendship is ultimately doomed and that is the end of the story. Sally: Well, I guess we're not going to be friends then. Harry: I guess not. Sally: That's too bad. You were the only person I knew in New York.
Author taurus5 Posted May 7, 2006 Author Posted May 7, 2006 sounds kind of funny but that Harry Met Sally skit pretty much hit it right on the head I guess I never really thought of it that way but it is pretty much true sex first and then possible friendship second and the ones I find unattractive I find it hard to continue talking to them to develop a possible friendship that damn porn has ruined everything another demon I have to overcome
Bogun Posted May 7, 2006 Posted May 7, 2006 I have this problem and I really can't explain why I feel this way but I would llike to have a girl that would be just a friend but it seems that every girl I meet I think that this could be a possible relationship and then get infatuated feelings but it never seems to go any further as a friendship relationship but I just want to have feelings for a girl that are the same as the feelings you have when you are with your buddies any suggestions Umm why?? So you can talk about toe nails, hair styles, shoes and periods with her? the ones I find unattractive I find it hard to continue talking to them to develop a possible friendship that damn porn has ruined everything another demon I have to overcome Hang on....if you only want a friend, why does it matter if their unattractive?
visotech Posted May 7, 2006 Posted May 7, 2006 Hang on....if you only want a friend, why does it matter if their unattractive? I think people tend to associate with people who are on the same level of physical attractiveness, it just seems to happen naturally without having to think about it...well unless their family, then you got to deal with them ugly or not.
johan Posted May 7, 2006 Posted May 7, 2006 Forget about it. Women worth being friends with are worth dating. If a girl wants to be close friends with you, she more than likely would want more. Save your friendships for the guys.
