I think I fell to hard for this boy....I need some words of wisdom like fast

Okay basically I was dating this guy in school and at first i really didnt like him in that way, but I grew to like him and basically one of these girls that i have been cool with since elementary school asked me if he and i liked each other and i was like yea why and she was like because he said he thinks I like him ( I meaning me) and so then i went to my class and after that she had sent me a text message saying that he was talking about me and then after class i saw her and she told me that he had a girlfriend and that he was showing off her picture and he had said i text him alot and that she can now text him. Okay by this point I was really mad. I was mad because I felt like he could have let me know and i didnt think she owuld just make up a lie like that anyway so basically after that i saw his best friend in the hallway and he was like whats up and i was like nothing much and he was like well whats up with you and my boy? and i was like nothing as of this moment because i found out he has a girlfriend. andhis best friend was like no he doesnt have a girlfriend and then i was like well you know what it doesnt matter now because someone is lying to me and i am just tired of all this drama. So he called me and told me that his best friend was like i said i didnt want to mess with him anymore and i was like yea because i found out you had a girlfriend and you couldnt tell me that/ so basically he got upset and was like what?who said that/ I dont have a girlfriend! And then I said well why are you saying that i text you a lot when you know that is not the truth? and he got upset and kept saying why would i want to mess it up? and who told you that. are you making this up? and I got mad and was like now why in the f*** would i make that up and then he asked me again who said that and then i said rachel told me. Then he was like rachel? and then he was like ok ima call her and call you back and then i got off the phone with him and three hours went by and he didnt call me so i called him and he didnt answer the phone and the next day at school he didnt say anything to me and so we have basically not said anything to each other. I dont understand why he is mad at me becuase if you think about it.....if you were him wouldnt you be mad at rachel for lying on you? if it isnt true? so basically he calls himself being mad at me becuase i yelled at him and believed what she said. So I dont know what to do! I just really would appreciate feed back and comments. Mind you Rachel has a boyfriend so I wonder why she would lie? and do you think there is more to this story?
